Elon, I hate to break it to you but you aren’t my boss. I answer to the people of Minnesota. But since you bring it up, I spent last week fighting to stop tax breaks for billionaires like you, paid for by defunding health care for moms and babies

More Republicans warning about Medicaid cuts This time it's the senators from West Virginia, which (not coincidentally) is among the states with the highest proportion of residents on Medicaid & CHIP Via @igorbobic.bsky.social & @delaneyrules.bsky.social www.huffpost.com/entry/medica...

Jeffries: "This budget is a betrayal of working-class Americans... We only need 3 House Republicans -- there are 215 Democrats in the House - we only need 3 to stand up on behalf of their constituents, and that is going to be an ongoing effort over these next few days, to identify those individuals"

There’s no way House Republicans can pass their budget proposal without harming millions of Americans along the way — all to pay for even more tax breaks for billionaires.

This was a great conversation. Give it a listen and follow @beerocracy.bsky.social.

Here's a translation when they say "Big Changes" - the GOP are going to cut health care for the poor in order to give tax cuts to their rich friends 👇

NEW: Get ready for delayed tax refunds, long hold times + dropped calls with the IRS, thanks to Trump illegally firing more than 6,000 employees there today. *Except if you're a wealthy tax evader. You will now "feast" as the IRS strains to function. www.huffpost.com/entry/irs-ma...

fabulous & accessible @beerocracy.bsky.social pod on the state of play on the budget bill & negotiations with the great @michaelslinden.bsky.social podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/b...

The health care cuts that the GOP wants to make in order to pay for tax cuts for the rich will devastate people like Beyssa 👇

He also promised that Trump's corporate tax breaks would trickle down into an average wage increase of $4,000 a year.

LISTEN: Our Campaign Director @michaelslinden.bsky.social joined @thetentpod.bsky.social to talk about the tax fight in Congress and why Republicans are pursuing steep cuts to Medicaid and food assistance programs.

Well, at least the CEOs are happy about how things are going.

New Pod @michaelslinden.bsky.social from @equitablegrowth.bsky.social discusses MAGA tax breaks for the wealthy and how DOGE will hurt the middle class. @dgibber123.bsky.social & Colin also discuss the war in Ukraine and how Musk is putting Americans’ health and safety at risk.

The Republican plan is to save you money by getting rid of your rent and mortgage payments because you’re homeless now and the billionaires got your house.

AGAIN: If they actually cared about the deficit they wouldn’t also be cutting trillions in taxes for the rich. They think we are all very dumb.

The reason we don’t have enough money to spend on medical care or to expand social security or to take better care of our veterans is because we keep spending all the money on tax cuts for rich people like Musk.

Kings. Famously populist.

Personally I think it is not beautiful when a bill kicks millions of people off their health insurance and cuts food assistance down to just $1.60 per person per meal to partially pay for something that cuts taxes for the top 0.1% by $278k while giving only $1k to typical households

Shameful. Don't believe Musk when he says we can't afford to have veterans like Mr. Graziani serve other veterans. We would have plenty of resources for vital services like this if we didn't spend trillions on tax breaks for rich people like Musk.

This is the least surprising news ever. If you’re trying to remake the government so it only serves the billionaires, you definitely have to gut tax enforcement.

Guess who pays for tax cuts for the rich? You do. Through cuts to Medicaid, higher health premiums, and skyrocketing housing costs, working families will foot the bill for the GOP's tax giveaways to the ultra-wealthy. accountable.us/how-will-con... @accountable-us.bsky.social

House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington worries that we're in a debt spiral, says he prays we can get out of it, proceeds to begin the process for enacting a $4+ trillion tax cut bill

Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s idea of efficiency is stopping research on curing cancer.

People like to compare deficit spending to “eating your seed corn” but that phrase applies much better to cutting investments that will have long term returns

This has always been the GOP's strategy: 1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves. 2) Explode the deficit. 3) Demand cuts to programs that millions of people rely on. 4) Repeat. Don't let them get away with it.

How do I know House Rs plan to cut Medicaid & SNAP? Rep. Arrington put out a plan where he said he wanted to cut Medicaid & SNAP. His budget resolution reconciles the committees that have jurisdiction over Medicaid & SNAP. At markup, House GOP members keep saying they want to cut Medicaid & SNAP.

They are just calling anything they don't like, "fraud." And so are their allies in Congress. Remember that the next time you hear that we have to cut Medicaid because of "fraud."

"An unelected individual, whose sole qualification is spending about $44.2 billion on the last election...is making wildly illegal budget, staffing, & policy decisions [and] stacking federal agencies with his cronies who are all doing Watergate-grade crimes about 300 times/day" [email protected]

The continued difficulties with restoring Head Start funding is an attack on the most vulnerable families in America. @emmarjanssen.bsky.social talked to some providers on the pain of the past couple weeks, even after the courts said all funding must flow: prospect.org/health/2025-...

Just so that they can give more tax cuts to billionaires. How do we beat this? Republicans hold a very slight majority in the House, they can't lose any votes. House Republicans who are not in deep red seats will notice if their constituents are very loud and very angry about this bill.

If you are against cuts to health care for working people to pay for billionaire tax breaks, you are NOT alone. Most Americans, regardless of party, agree with you. The problem is that most Americans won't hear that this is exactly what Republicans are trying to do right now.

HOUSE REPUBLICANS NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU!!

We still have the Affordable Care Act in large part because people kept the pressure on their Republican electeds when they were in charge even though it seemed useless to many to call someone like Concerned Susan Collins or McCain. The idea that your calls don’t matter simply is not true

Here's the simplest way to understand the Republican budget bill: 11% average annual cut to Medicaid. $250,000 average annual tax break for the richest 0.1%.

⏰⏰⏰ House Republicans just released their Budget plan. Here's what's in it: -Trillions in tax cuts for the rich - At least $1.5 trillion in cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, school lunch, Pell grants (and more). Literally paying for tax breaks for the rich with cuts to healthcare and food.

This isn't fair. They also want to spend trillions on tax breaks for the rich, which, as we all know, will somehow trickle down into lower prices on eggs. I guess.

I'll believe they're putting "America First" when they stop cutting Head Start, Meals on Wheels, Community Health Centers, Medicaid, public schools and infrastructure here in America right now, all to make room for more tax cuts for the rich and multinational corporations.

"We have to worry about the blue collar worker" say Republicans as they prepare a major budget that would cut healthcare for low and moderate income families so that billionaires can have a bigger tax cut.

This is from a 2020 presentation. Now it's just the chaos we live in, and no such description is needed.

The CFPB is one of the American people’s best defenses against waste, fraud, and abuse. Demolishing it will, of course, lead to more waste, fraud, and abuse.

I messed up. At the CFPB rally, I said we had ~300 events at Senate offices across every state but Mississippi. That was wrong. Shout out to the 45 members of Indivisible Northeast Mississippi who showed up at Senator Wicker's offices in Tupelo! Thank you for the correction! That's 50 states + DC.

I’m old enough to remember when President Obama mildly criticized Fox News and the rest of media absolutely freaked out.

Whose side is Congress on — working families or their billionaire donors? Today, Families Over Billionaires Campaign Director @michaelslinden.bsky.social reminded them of what’s at stake:

No matter how Republicans want to spin it, tens of millions of people will lose health care coverage if they follow through with their plans to slash Medicaid. WATCH @michaelslinden.bsky.social call out Congress directly on it ⬇️
