A Filipino Emergency Response Resource Document has been created by local community members to provide ongoing support including counseling, emergency aid and updates. docs.google.com/document/u/0...

Since it came up elsewhere: Here's a Super 8 film we made a few years back, shot guerilla-style in downtown Los Angeles and featuring a garden gnome modeled to look like legendary filmmaker Ken Russell (and actually was his/belongs to his family). Still fond of this one. vimeo.com/740964503?sh...

It's Independent Bookstore Day...and it cannot be overstated how crucial such booksellers are to the access and exchange of art, thought, and discourse. Individuals motivated by voracious literary passion and the need to help others tap into their own are frankly, to me, heroes. Read, read, read!

Cinematic pedigree not withstanding, you have to hand it to Criterion: A van that rolls around luring people inside with the promise of movies is a solid concept for a grindhouse flick. “The discs are out of print…and you’re out of time.” “A stunning restoration…of fear!”

Fango is sad to hear of the passing of actress Lar Park Lincoln, best known as Tina in FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD. Our condolences to her family, friends and many fans.

When I was in college, some local filmmakers made a DIY exploitation/gore film, and when it premiered at the local theater...that place was a PARTY. Folks...horror fans and not...turned up because that movie was our backyard, made by our own. I still think about that vibe and energy. It's important.

A @bjcolangelo.bsky.social appreciation post! BJ is one of the smartest, kindest, most compassionate voices I’ve had the pleasure to work with. She’s someone I confide in, trust, and rely on for all manner of insight. I’m lucky to know her, honored to publish her, and proud to call her my friend.

Personally, I think the best way to celebrate John Waters’ birthday is to be unapologetically bold and fabulously ungovernable.

Indie cinema, ya know?

Thinking about requiring horror fans read the Necronomicon before voting for the Chainsaw Awards.

Someone is going to tell you to watch NIGHT OF THE LEPUS today...and it might as well be me.

Why yes, I do think that queer folks are like Criterion movies in that they’re often best out of the closet where they’re able to be seen and appreciated.
