Yes very sad indeed. It would be great if the network could be saved. I also feel really sorry for the local IZA team, they have always been great...

FANTASTIC ICPSR at U Mich is coordinating the archiving of at-risk federal data (all of it?) You can upload data you have & search for data you don’t have www.datalumos.org/datalumos/

Time preferences could play a role in job search: the costs are incurred now, the benefits materialize later. Common measures to elicit preferences are however problematic in this context. We propose an alternative method in our paper, just published in AEJ Micro. www.aeaweb.org/articles?id=...

Thank you to Stéphane Carcillo and Stefano Scarpetta for editing the "Handbook on Labour Markets in Transition". Philipp Kircher, Paul Muller and I have a Chapter on "Navigating behavioral biases in job search: overview and digital solutions" www.elgaronline.com/edcollchap/b...

We have an updated version of our paper: 'Gender Diversity and Diversity of Ideas'. Adding one more year of data on the Econ job market: Women in Male Fields still much more likely to be placed as AP than anyone else... drive.google.com/file/d/1wBY1...

Just confirming: it is not ok (or cool) in our profession to ignore papers that relate clearly to ours, even if they are working papers. There is some weird trend going on lately…

How has the large inflow of less-educated immigrants into the United States affected US natives’ labor market outcomes? Sparber @colgateuniversity.bsky.social and Madeline Zavodny show that the work hazards have fallen for native workers and the impact is larger for women. doi.org/10.1177/0019...

There has been no increase in the economic diversity of elite private and public colleges in the United States over the last century. However, these colleges have become more racially and geographically diverse. www.nber.org/papers/w33164

Just want to promote the Industrial and Labor Relations Review here. The team of Econ editors has recently changed and includes Amalia Miller, Alan Benson and myself. Published work receives great visibility in and outside academia. Looking forward to your submissions! journals.sagepub.com/home/ilr

We are hiring! You will work on a series of exciting papers with me, @emilynix100.bsky.social, Kristiina H, Ning Zhang & Martti Kaila while developing your own research agenda. Please reach out with any questions! Job ad: econjobmarket.org/positions/11218 #EconSky #EconJM

Happy to be here as well to see more relevant posts posted by academics. BUT academics are well aware of the dangers of echo-chambers, so now more than ever, I hope academics keep posting on X (and perhaps mobilize to like relevant posts). I think it would be bad to disappear in our own bubble!

A reminder of the approaching deadline (Dec 31st) for the Special Issue on "Field Experiments to Reduce Inequality" at the European Economic Review. Looking forward to your submissions! sciencedirect.com/special-issu...

The graph nicely illustrates what one may regard as a worldwide tacit agreement on climate policy: We continue to increase the consumption of energy, and generate it sustainably. The agreement is only about the general direction - the numbers in the graph need improvement of course.
