Having moved from a town to the coast, I had no idea the sky was so big. Love nature, animals, art, photography, and getting outdoors.

Word of the Day is ‘hunch-weather’ (19th century): weather so cold it makes you hunch your shoulders when you walk outside.

A favourite walk: Further along the path, now the heather flowers have faded to shades of reddish browns; the late autumn mist muting the autumnal colours of the golden Silver Birch trees in the distance! Soon on to winter🕊️ Wishing everyone a good & safe weekend 🌿 📷 #nature #landscape #photography

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if all you accomplish this weekend is reading a riveting novel cover-to-cover whilst drinking multiple kettles of tea and consuming a scandalous amount of croissants, then you will have accomplished more than enough.

It's a corvid day today. We are surrounded by them. There's the Jackdaws who live in the owl box, the village rookery, the ravens who endlessly fly above and the Jays who plant our land with acorns, providing the trees of tomorrow. ❤️Beautiful, intelligent birds.

Can’t get on to the moor today, so here’s another of a diving Common Kingfisher at Hannafore beach, Cornwall, last week. #birds #UKBirding #birdphotography #naturelovers

A Lesser Fiery Copper seen in Cyprus in June. Occurs in Southern and Eastern Europe, so don't expect to see one in the UK. Scientific name Lycaena thersamon.

You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.

Working on some patchwork panels for shoulder bags. These take time but it’s a soothing process combining the plant colours. Indigo, madder, meadowsweet, heather and oak gall.

A few more images from my walk up to Tarn How’s this afternoon. Well more of a photographic wander than a walk with an objective in mind. I just happened to end up there. 😂😂

Beautiful, frosty morning today. I love the icy Primrose petals. #frost @bsbibotany.bsky.social @wildflowerhour.bsky.social #naturephotography

Just finished up a new batch of large wash bags. They are water resistant and lightweight so handy for travel or postal gifts. As always the print designs are my own and I make every bag from start to finish. www.redrubyrose.com/category/was...

Time to sit and rest for a minute. There’s something about a Robin in the snow that is hard to resist taking a photo of!! #birds #birdphotography #uksnow

The late 15th century 41-45 Goodramgate, York. A fine medieval building with an open hall at the rear and later additions. One of my favourite timber framed buildings in York.

Sitting in bed wrapped in a big orange scarf & snug in a pink wool hat under two duvets. I’m thinking If only all the 14500 people who found me on twitter would find me here. All that work I put in there is being swamped by the swamp #birds #icons #rewilding #ecology #art #painting #folklore #books

If you know me from the “other place” please do reply to this post and let me know who you are so I can follow you back. I’d love to keep in touch with as many people as possible, but I’m getting a bit confused as to who’s who on here. I’d also be grateful if you would share this message for me!

Good morning all here on Bluesky 😊🙌 Let's start the day with some Nature 📸🤩 #photography
