Today I’m thinking about the english prof who I asked for a letter of rec for an on-campus job. I was a star student. He even read my papers aloud to the class. His reply: “What would I write other than you were a good student and received an ‘A’ in my class?” No punchline. He was just a dick.

was traveling for work and asked to crash on a friend's couch. i wasn't feeling well so she insisted on drawing me a bath. upon getting in and noticing an oddly familiar scent, I then spied a bottle of lemon dish soap on the counter and realized i was the human equivalent of a soaking lasagna pan.

Today, my daughter said “I hate you” I heard on a parenting vid that what they really mean is “I need a hug” (and the like) So, I asked if she needed a hug. She said yes. I hugged her and explained that she can just ask next time. Later on she walks up to me and goes: “I hate you I want a hug”
