Going over manuscript corrections on the train, the old school way…

I love this! I write about my great grandad, who was also a stoker, in my forthcoming book A Dirty History of Photography. What does it have to do with photography? Maybe I just have a soft spot for stokers. Great Grandad survived the Battle of Jutland.

Got my copy-edits back and I am still able to be surprised by the difference between the way I write (which may or may not be correct British English) and American English. No. 1 - I am 5 foot 7 but apparently it’s 5 feet 7, no. 2 - in the past I dived but it turns out I dove.

Fantastic opportunity here! Not only is Dr Oman a sector-changing scholar overflowing with integrity and clever, she is one of the most compassionate and lovely people I know. Like I said, fantastic opportunity
