So. It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year. I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

NEW: Medications for HIV treatment and prevention were supposed to resume around the globe. But they haven't, multiple sources told me. Not only are there basically no employees left to carry out USAID projects -- the waiver itself was extremely limited. www.npr.org/sections/goa...

Tech companies make it VERY hard to de-platform from them. (Except Twitter - that's easy). I'm too entwined with Google to make an immediate getaway, but I CAN stop using Google maps as a start (but not without leaving a review of their headquarters first).

The American Society of Microbiology @asm.org is taking down LGBTQ related content from its website. An *independent* *scientific* society is self-censoring to comply with openly discriminatory policies. What a disgrace. #IDSky #MicroSky

It is morally repugnant that the world's richest man is working to de-fund programs that give aid to some of the neediest people on Earth. Elon Musk's legacy will be that of a weak narcissist who, even with untold riches and power, was unhappy, unloved, unfulfilled, and unredeemable.
