I'll say it again: in a country where due process is individually denied and then broadly eroded and eventually eliminated, being a citizen will not protect you from the terror of this administration.

We've reached the point in our descent into fascism where the Jewish governor's house getting firebombed on Passover by a guy trying to bash his head in with a sledgehammer is overshadowed by the story of the President saying he wants to build foreign gulags for US citizens.

Legal permanent resident of the U.S., showing up to apply for citizenship, with no allegations of criminal activity, is arrested and detained by masked police. This is fascism, and that is not a word I use lightly. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/14/n...

This is terrifying in America. ICE agents are showing up masked—these abductions must stop. If you’re going to detain someone, show your face, present a warrant, and proper ID. Disappearing people from their families without evidence or accountability isn’t law enforcement—it’s state-sponsored fear.

Unions getting fired up!

In addition to undocumented workers, folks here legally who send earnings back to lift families out of poverty (while the US withholds aid) will be targets for deportation. And what, would the feds seize their accounts, too? First they came for the wire transfers ...

The discourse around tariffs has been “things will get more expensive” but I am here to tell you that I am knee deep in reporting on this subject and I strongly suspect that if super high tariffs endure, it will shift to *certain items cease to be available at any price*

How much untold pain and disgrace could have been avoided had a handful of GOP Senators had the guts to convict after the second impeachment? They utterly failed the test of history.

He's never been held to the same standards as any other President.

I found the corruption! And I'm not even a DOGE bro.

Kamala was right. Hillary was right. Misogyny and racism make us unsafe and broke.

In sum: an economically illiterate "conservative" institutes the biggest tax hike in history in an effort to revive the policies that led to the Great Depression. Cool.

Seven polling sites in Milwaukee ran out of ballots due to "historic turnout" according to city election director. More ballots are being printed and on way. Very important to remind voters that if they're in line when polls close at 8 CT they get to vote. Do not leave. Please spread the word

I think the remarkable thing about Cory Booker's speech is that much of it is *a good speech*. He's not just filling time, he's using time while the spotlights on him.

These HHS RIFs are reckless and cruel. In a typical RIF, employees aren’t locked out immediately—they stay to wrap up work and ensure a smooth transition. Instead, this admin abruptly shut everyone out, creating chaos that harms both workers and the people they serve.

Hands off our building! What a despicable shell game using assets of We The People!

What's the terrifying security failure equivalent of a dumpster fire?

Next big chance to show up to support America! Protests all over the country Saturday, April 5th. We need big numbers. Protests in DC, every state capitol, and many other cities. Be present. Be loud. Bring others with you. @50501movement.bsky.social @indivisible.org Handsoff2025.com #HandsOff

As of Friday, there have been 46 cases in which federal judges have blocked Trump policies. The rulings in those cases have come from 39 different judges appointed by 5 different presidents (of both parties) to 11 different district courts across 7 different circuits. Maybe it's not the judges?

After overthrowing the Mad King, I'm sure the Founders never anticipated the same kind of "sociopathic, fascistic tone of ironic detachment and glee" coming from our own seat of government.
