I was honoured to be invited by the Oceano Azul Foundation to brief President Macron on environmental issues. During our brief meeting, I spoke about the connections between oceans, climate, and biodiversity and found Emmanuel Macron to be a sharp and attentive listener.

Climate change is reshaping ecosystems. Specialised species face greater risks in the tropics, while generalists expand into high-latitudes. Using new models, we predict shifts in trophic communities, leading to more uniform distribution of feeding groups. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

On International Day of Women in Science let's celebrate the life of Prof. Georgina Mace (1953–2020) who was instrumental in creating the Red List of endangered species which now underpins conservation around the world. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgin...

Last day of great symposium on predictive ecology in a warming world, Granada, Spain.

"What would a world 3°C warmer look like? This open-access book explores the urgency of limiting warming to 2°C, offering an action plan focused on climate finance, education, and nature-based solutions. Good for educators and communicators alike. 🌍📖 #ClimateAction" link.springer.com/book/10.1007...

Grateful to the @britishecolsoc.bsky.social and the Marsh Charitable Trust for honouring my research contributions on biodiversity and climate change with this recognition.

Interesting talk by Bill Kunin about using existing weather radars to track changes in insect abundance and abundance. #BES2024

Moderate views are not very popular these days, but here our view on one of the environmental policy debates of our times: Climate Policy Beyond Ideological Trenches. link.springer.com/article/10.1...

Are threatened species important for glueing interaction networks together? The most important interactions in the network are, at least, partially at risk. Threatened and non-threatened species make unique contributions to the ecological network. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

I have put together this short video explaining why we do what we do in the lab. It is our vision but also our mission: youtu.be/56QvmT48uFI?...
