I succumbed and signed up for a glasses subscription thingie. The monthly cost for two pairs during 2 years is almost exactly the same amount as the non-fiction books I bought on the book sale. (There is also glasses insurance so if I break/ lose them I get a new pair for free.)

My son is interning in DC for 3mths with our Congressional Rep, answering phones most days. He says calls are still coming, but it's tapered. Please, call your reps. The volume of voter comment matters. Immigrants at Gitmo & stripping lawyers from unaccompanied immigrant children are wrong.

Burnout by Emily Nagoski talks about this - it helps to bring the nervous system back from the fight/flight levels of stress. Being able to rebalance/recharge makes all of those systems more effective. Even in the thick of a bad situation, it’s a valuable tool to keep going (gallows humor, anyone?)
