Thinking about quitting internet.

There is something really repulsive about the fact that Fox News and CNN are now having long debates about the clothes Zelenskyy wore to The White House, and whether it was a problem, he did not wear a tie. It must be really awkward for all US servicemen and women who know what it takes to […]

I’m so glad we read Nonviolent Communication (Marshall B. Rosenberg) in the book club. It’s so useful when bringing up an issue with the kids. They’re such empathic creatures they get it immediately, and we can have a dialogue instead of everyone being angry at each other. It might be simple […]

I used to listen to podcasts when it was new, when people did it because it was fun. When the medium was exciting. Then people found out they could monetize it, and podcasts got watered out, boring, the same again and again. Today I listen to the occasional documentary from the national […]

I finished Balatro. My definition of finishing at least. I’ve cleared all stakes and all decks. Now I need to uninstall this game before it takes over my life any more. #gaming #videogames #balatro

So, America in bed with Russia. That was not on my bingo card when I grew up in the 90’s.

Game review: Civilization VII I like some of the things that are going on in this game, but sadly the game is not finished. It’s most apparent by the end where the game just ends without any ceremony. A disappointment for me. https://replay.games/2025/02/23/civilization-vii/ #videogames […]

This is great news! #RageAgainstTheMachineLearning https://basilisk.gallery/@Grey/114040552471220145

I played the piano this evening. Tought myself to play 9 Crimes by Damien Rice. Then I played it for my wife and she cried. It was a good thing. https://music.apple.com/se/album/9-crimes/203880553?i=203880558&l=en-GB

Many problems at the office, can be traced back to HR having too much time and budget. #Maslow

In the book I’m reading, one of the characters isolate themselves from news and world events, because he cannot do anything about them and they’re just stressing him out. In the book, aliens are on their way to earth to wipe out the human race because we’re bugs. Yeah. #TheDarkForest

I was so stressed out about all new technology and frameworks coming out 2010-2020. Then something happened and I’m not stressed out anymore. It’s not that I don’t care, it’s just that I feel that there isn’t as much new things coming out that I need to learn. And for new frameworks and such […]

I’ve been playing #Civ7 for a couple of hours now and reached the second age. I don’t have any comments on the gameplay yet. It will come, there are quite a few changes. My problems is that the game is quite buggy. Help texts gets stuck on screen, units disappear, and game crashes. The UI […]

I went to Stockholm over the day. It was nice, nothing’s changed much. But I was glad to leave, and going home. Stockholm has too many people for my peace of mind.

I’ve been crunching with 2 days of 12 work hours, and I’m not cut out for it anymore. I used to be able to do this when I was younger but today I feel completely spent. We’re going to do some QA on the code I’ve produced the last couple of days but then I think I’ll just head home to get some […]

In software development, it’s usually people with the least clue, that is most certain how a problem should be solved. An adoption of Dunning-Kruger if you would.

I bought a cable. Not sure what I need it for, but I love it.

Someone I followed on YouTube has to relocate due to circumstances, and were asking subscribers to contribute to their GoFundMe. I was thinking ”sure” I have enjoyed some of their videos and could repay in kind. Then I saw their GoFundMe goal was set at $25 000. For me this is a really […]

[Örebro] There’s been a school shooting in Örebro, Sweden. This is all I need to know. I have no need for any extra information at this time. I don’t need to know anything about the perpetrator. I don’t need to know anything about the victims. I don’t need to hear from our prime minister. I […]

-”I think it would be better if acceptance testing is done in the production environment, so we test on the code and data that is going live.” -”This is not how we do things. We have done many projects like this, and we always test in test environment and then move everything to production […]

I was going to take my son out for some exercise, but damn he’s become quick on his feet. I was struggling to keep up.

I worked from home for several years. Now I can’t stand it. I also can’t stand working in open plan offices, so what I did was to get my own office space in the city close to my clients. I get the privacy I need to focus, and I can pop in for a meeting when needed. This privilege costs me […]

I’m romanticizing a world without computers.

Rewatched Dune part 2. They really messed up the source material for no reason at all. So many moments, less cool than the books. The only thing that stands out is Irulans outfit at the end. Maybe not wear steel armor to the desert, but it looks badass.

”So how many bugs do you believe will be found during testing, and could you please estimate how long it would take to fix?”

They can’t be smarter than us so they MUST HAVE STOLEN IT. That is the only reasonable explanation 🙄 https://mastodon.social/@designatednerd/113912707687220597

A project manager tried to get me to estimate. -”No” -”What?” -”No because you think you can use those estimates to tell the client the amount of work that is left and to forecast the rest of the project.” -”Yes?” -”Then you’re grossly mistaken in what usefulness estimates have and you’d […]
