I'm sure that nuclear and other generation technologies can do this....oh they can't?. But they have a cost roadmap to get there, right?!....oh they don't? Do they at least have some cool memes and a bunch of dudes talking about a renaissance? Ok, great then we are good.

Winter, in the northern hemisphere. More north than much of Canada.

I knew I recognized that building www.nytimes.com/2025/03/07/r...

I agree with this. I think Canadians understand that there is a bellicose performative element to all of this. We also are not surprised with lying. it is the silence from the sane majority of Americans that makes us wonder whether or not the USA as a whole is okay with this stuff.

Did that a month ago. True

I will keep saying that data centre play is largely a scam by utilities , big tech and their mutual investments in nuclear and centralized generation

Take the over. Also a lot of this is going to be stuff that is not reported.

I always laugh how nuclear and natural gas are the only right wing power sources supported. Solar and batteries are really the right wing power sources because they are completely free market libertarian. They don't like them because they can't control them and make money.

That would be ..... something

Agree. So insulting to the soldiers that fought and died for when the USA picked up there phone and asked.

North America needs to wake up that it is soon to be at a competitive disadvantage with his electrical system.

It's not going to matter. If the US truly needs electricity generation the only way they're getting it before 2030, is with renewables. All the US is doing is putting itself behind the rest of the world

My latest: From Arizona to Texas, an anti-renewables fever is gripping GOP state legislatures as the industry grows, and several states appear on the cusp of significantly restricting solar or wind development as soon as this year. cc @heatmap.news heatmap.news/plus/the-fig...

This is going to increasingly become more so because solar and batteries mean that you do not have to have as much distribution, and that is where all the cost is.

Lord knows why anyone is surprised with this. Have they looked at communications and computing networks? This is how networks want to be. This is how technology wants to evolve

I think that the UK will drop too. Their response to USA annexation talk is.... crickets

Or... stay with me here.....Canada could actually, maybe build some solar to catch up with Holland as a start....holland! Erin O'Toole: The future for nuclear is bright, but only if we learn lessons of the past financialpost.com/commodities/...

People don't realize that ships generally run off of electric motors. It is the electricity that is generated from diesel. Cut out the middle man. It's the opposite of people thinking that nuclear creates the electricity. all it does is great Steam to spin the turbine.
