Can we talk about how MAGAts are so incredibly performative in their “patriotism”. Dressing in head to toe ‘merica themed clothes. Donning the latest and greatest Felon merch, spamming American flag emojis, always proclaiming love and admiration for the Felon. It’s all performative bullshit.

I think we should all start talking about performative patriotism. Ex: renaming Gulf of Mexico to “Gulf of America” which doesn’t do anything for the country other than stoke the egos of the Felon and his supporters.

My initial comment (on my page) was about asylum seekers who would eventually end up being subject to deportation, but I never said those were the only immigrants or asylum was only legal process. What you’re doing is strawmanning.

In case you haven’t noticed, BlueSky has a word limit. It’s hard to address topics that aren’t so black & white. The immigrants I was referring to were the migrants arriving from the border that has everyone in a tizzy. The hot immigration topic rn. Who are claiming asylum.

The best thing this country could do is not only treat immigrants as human beings, but also invest in immigrants while they pay taxes, so they can become upstanding, contributing members of society, and not spend millions of dollars deporting them…but we’re not ready for the conversation.
