Latest homebrew is this 1858 Tetley A Bitter recipe from Ron Pattinson’s book. It’s way more interesting of a beer than I expected. All pale malt. 90 minute boil. A ton of EKG hops all at 60 minutes. I think I love it. Wish it was hand pumped from a cask but I haven’t figured that out yet.

I hate YouTube as a platform despite knowing there are a lot of people making great things on there. I just want to put this out there. I would subscribe to YouTube premium immediately if they figured out how to give me a personal video podcast feed of all my subscribed channels.

The problem with having a social media account again is how hard it is to resist shouting my melodramatic stresses into the world… And filling it with melodramatic stresses is exactly what tends to make it an unhealthy pastime.

Anyone on here need a Pokemon Go friend? I need one for a mission. My Trainer Code is 178671073613!

Pulled the first pour off of Estonian Dreams for my birthday this evening. Timed it! Baltic Porter. Brown, Black, and Chocolate malt. (No roasted barley) Four week lager ferment followed by four weeks cold conditioning. Worth it.

I need a hug.

I’m putting too much on this Bills game, like it represents overcoming everything that’s been hard in my life. I realize how stupid that is. Regardless, I don’t know how I’m going to watch the second half.

Let’s go Buffalo! 🤮

Beginning the De-Christmasing process. Drinking the beer that started it all in proper glassware thanks to a wonderfully nostalgic gift. Wouldn’t say it’s one of my favorite beers but definitely is a treat right now. The glass couldn’t feel more right.

Be happy. Be sad. Be all the things. We’re here because we’re here because we’re here because we’re here. Happy New Year! youtu.be/nGzeMNxqpYU?... (Thanks for that and everything you do @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social)

Home stretch of holiday break, thought I’d do a homebrew post. Admiration, our Belgian holiday ale we’ve been brewing for about ten years. All the malt: pilsner, special b, aromatic, caramunich, melanoidin. Pear juice from our pear tree. Cardamom, coriander, nutmeg, and grains of paradise. 8.5%

Let’s go Buffalo!

I feel like, is this a good demonstration of how neural networks work? 🙃

Let’s go Buffalo! If anything feels like a jinxed game this does. 🤮

Let’s go BUFFALO!

Minecraft advent calendar is a hit.

Took the boys to Rohrbach Beer Hall to see Santa today and it did not disappoint. They did a wonderful job.

Just finished watching today’s USWNT match. It’s so easy to be a fan of this team. Big three aren’t there and everyone still steps up. Lynn Williams’ goal was killer. Can’t believe Naeher is retiring. She still seems unbeatable.

I’m still homebrewing beer though. This is Night Night Trees, a barleywine. 8.5%. All the fermentables come from barley, pretty much a 50-50 mix of maris otter and regular two row, but also a hint of crystal 10. Some juniper in the boil along with a bunch of classic American hops. Bitter and floral.

I don’t really know what to say on social media anymore. So many of the things that I used to talk about back in the day just no longer feels like the thing to do. /shrug It’s been nice to find some of the people on here I used to love keeping up with before though.
