Plastic straws for the win. It’s like living in a 2000AD comic book.

Made pizza toast for the lols, and the funny thing is that it’s a bit like Findus French Bread Pizza, a GenX staple back in the day 🤣

Whatever happened to hipsters?

I remember when Duvets were continental quilts #loveEU

Put the TV on this morning while making breakfast to be greeted by #Milkshake on Channel 5. This used to be a regular when the children were small, I almost settled down to watch #peppapig

More Christmas leftovers, this time the unfortunate liqueurs, just a couple of errant chocolates, best not to waste them, eh?

Now it’s the Christmas chocolate, will it never end. Found these under the sofa. Will it never end? 🤣

Am I the only one still finishing off Christmas leftovers? Today it’s mulled wine? Ready made and microwaved, just like the heathen I am. #christmasleftovers

Am I the only one still working their way through the Christmas cheeses?

I got back into Mac’s when Apple released the Macmini. Bring your own mouse and keyboard was the strapline. Such a great machine. Since then I’ve been through the iterations, all good, but the latest, the M4, is something else. Such a small form factor, and plenty powerful enough for my needs.

In a taxi heading to Heathrow for a flight to Washington (which may get cancelled) and the driver has Kenny G on, aargh, too much soft saxaphone 🤪

Got the kids a PS5 Pro for Christmas and it is terrific. However, my eldest asked if she could buy a Nintendo Wii with her Christmas money so I found her one on eBay which got delivered today. Both children are having a load of fun with bowling. Funnily enough I sold our original Wii back in 2020

I watched Leon last night. The last time I saw it was back in the 90s. I always remembered it as a fantastic movie but after watching it again last night I’m convinced it’s a masterpiece. A young Natalie Portman and of course Gary Oldman performances standout, as does Jean Reno. What a movie.

Santa and Bob wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Daisy getting some attention from Mrs P and in the background I think that is my son noshing on some crisps 🤣

AI is changing career guidance, offering personalised CV advice, interview prep, and job exploration. But access must be equitable, or it risks deepening inequalities. AI should support, not replace, human advisers. Investment in both tech and training is key to balance.

I got more likes for this beat on IG than anything I’ve ever made before or since 🤷

As bookshelves go, you’ve pretty much got all the groups here.

Morning all

Coffee is so expensive!

Start my new job on Thursday after a 6 month break. It’s a mere 28 minute walk from my house and I know this as I did a trial walk to the office this morning 🤣 It’s 3 days in the office and given my last role was completely remote I’m quite looking forward to it.

Apparently there’s a countrywide shortage of Starbucks Eggnog. We tried three stores today and a drive through, but nada. Disappointed Mrs P.

Right then, Christmas playlist is on and I’m having a trial run of doing a large Turkey Crown in the Traeger. Turkey cobs with pigs n blankets and stuffing for tea tonight our neighbours who are good friends. Perfect.

Oh dear! It’s been on the cards for a while then? www.bbc.co.uk/news/busines...

And this is why it is so difficult to get hold of a disk drive at the moment for the PS5. Everyone wants one.

Classy.

Made eggs Benedict for brunch this morning, not the faff it appears to be. Transformed my Hollandaise by folding into whisked egg whites to make foaming hollandaise - creates a greater volume, fewer calories per serving, and the rest can be frozen for next time. Delicious.

I love Ian Hislop but it’s worth noting that most of us would balk at the prospect of publicly admonishing a wrongdoer whose conduct you condemn in this way. I did it once to the UKIP/Reform/Brexit twerp Richard Tice but that took exactly zero guts. This is speaking truth to actual power…

Watching a rerun of ToTP from 1988 on BBC4 (rock and roll on a Friday night , eh 🤣) and the presenters start off with it being the first time you could also listen in stereo on the radio as the FM transmitters had just been switched on!! And Bomb the Bass are playing. Epic!
