Put @justinpykehistory.bsky.social in charge

Exactly one year ago I flew Saab Gripen. In this new video I talk about that unforgettable experience, all the surprises, the things I did not expect and the many questions I now have. It is posted on my new channel that will focus on modern airpower topics (Hint: subscribe): youtu.be/IGCFjQYTAoU

Do people really hate raisins that much? 👉Based on combat in Poland, one Luftwaffe bomber unit advises that ideal combat food is Chocolate (maybe misspelled Schokakola), rusk and cookies. Raisins are considered „too sweet“. Do with this knowledge what you must.

Great talks with @justinpykehistory.bsky.social about Japanese aviation (planes, tactics, techniques, etc.). A lot of info on various topics, including usually neglected pre-Pearl Harbor combat in China. Highly recommended.

- It is the 18th February 2025. - The German Election is on the 23rd February 2025. - I applied for postal vote in early January. - I have yet to receive my ballot. - Last election my ballot was stuck in German customs +2 weeks. - I don't even know what to say about this.

Captured American aircraft, including a B-17 Flying Fortress, fly over Tokyo's Yasukuni shrine as part of an Oct. 1942 festival. They were later put on display (see below). Obara Masao, an Asahi war correspondent on board the B-17, later spoke of the deep unease he felt during the flight. 1/

Imperial Japanese Army VS Navy - how did they prepare for World War 2, how did their tactics change and were they really just turn'n'burning it up? Join @justinpykehistory.bsky.social and me for Episode 1 of what is a +2h long discussion on Japanese WW2 airpower. Ep.1: youtu.be/wo3Bn2QF8Nw

In the 🇷🇺/🇺🇦war we see the vulnerability of airbases to traditional & new forms of attack. Are NATO airbases prepared for this? Joining me is Justin Bronk of RUSI to talk about preventing high aircraft losses on the ground. 📺👉 youtu.be/TroLzBrS9jM

Have Ai make a thumbnail they said. It will be great they said….

The F-104 Starfighter has a poor reputation. Popularly known as the "Widowmaker", lets have a look at the data, to check if it is truly an exceptional case compared to its fellow Century Series aircraft. 🔥👉https://youtu.be/9jOR4hl0sMw

„Defence Ministers from 10 NATO Allies came together on 11 Oct. 2023 to sign a memorandum of understanding to further develop the European Sky Shield Initiative.“ ESSI is becoming more concrete but the countries that signed the MoU are no surprise. www.nato.int/cps/en/natoh...

I am confused about this potential announcement for ESSI. Will new countries join or is this a formalisation of ESSI into a binding framework? 🤨
