Book post is the "OMG!" BEST POST! Thank you again, @brigidsgatepress.bsky.social. Books by @sjtownend.bsky.social, Rae Knowles and a collection of a myriad of excellent women writers! #horror #writing

Don’t forget that cruelty is the point. And by their own choice, it is completely indiscriminate!

What I have been doing instead of working on my book. It will be a spectacular quilt if I can get my seams to match. Of course that is the thing, isn’t it?

While the predator pursues Harper in her dreams, something is kidnapping people in the wakening. When an eyeless corpse is found in the cathedral’s secret archives, Harper’s magic is once again the key to finding the supernatural killer. Coming March 4th, The Somnia by Alethea Lyons

I’m George Takei and I approve of this message.

Works for me!

I have canceled my Washington Post subscription. As I said in the email I just sent them: “ your masthead last year said that democracy dies in darkness. All I can say is it must be pretty damn dark where you are right now.” @washingtonpost.com

Hey it's #MSWL Day! Great to have @manuscriptwishlist.bsky.social here. What I'm looking for: -YA thriller/low fantasy blends; think RIPLEY meets TUCK EVERLASTING. -YA historical procedural. I want a teen ALIENIST. -MG dark fantasy GNs. An 11 year old exorcist? Sure! -Weird! Weird everything!

Back from #macbeth - gods that was brilliant! The soundscape was amazing and such an integral part of the experience. That the acting was brilliant goes without saying. When you can forget that you’re watching DT on stage because you’re so sucked in… Worth every penny!

Most people, including me, find it difficult to look past the trail of tears, but at least Andrew Jackson loved his wife and threatened to hang John C Calhoun. He had nothing but contempt for state rights and secessionists. He would’ve hated these idiots.

“I am dreams you can’t remember, nightmares you can’t forget,” From THE NATURE OF ME by Linda D. Addison appearing in The Horror That Represents You

Going back to the Doctrine of Discovery, White supremacy is America's Original Sin.

Read. Rest. Resist.

Have my ticket to Macbeth - Sunday at noon! The only showing within 50 miles of my house that occurs in the daylight hours. I was afraid I was going to miss it since I am unable to drive at night but there are are definite advantages to not watching football.

Authors - if you see this, it’s a sign to post the first line of your book. How can a bird know my future?

I have one of these - it has had beta readers and (so far) one editor in tears at the ending. Seems to defy any attempt at categorizing it into a genre though. Maybe someday, if I ever get to publish a collection, I’ll put it in there.

When all else fails, I make cheesecake. It was quite tasty (and frozen in single portions for emergencies). This one is my variation on a Basque-style cheesecake.

THIS!

Me, too.

Remember what the Bishop said

Watching Taskmaster - I’ve spent way too much time trying to decide what I’d wear as a contestant. My current thinking is a Regency-style naval officer’s uniform.

Keep reading. Keep writing. Keep dreaming.

Mike Monteiro on how to survive being online. "The first four years of Donald Trump was a continuous panic attack. I'm not going through that again. You don't have to either. They're on stage, but you don't have to be their audience."

There is a balance to needing to stay vigilant and how many times I can stomach seeing the Big Tangerine in my timeline. I have not yet found a sweet spot. Don’t even know if there is one.

If you haven't read this already, you really, really should: harpers.org/archive/1941...
