The absolutely insane inconsistent tariff policy is going to bring commerce to a standstill

TBH I was expecting more Handmaid’s Tale and less Khmer Rouge.

To be quite honest the vegetable garden feels like the only thing that isn’t stressing me out right now

Yeah but the people at the port who collect the tariffs are ALREADY confused

As someone who deals with contracts I cannot overstate how crazy everything is making me

It’s kind of a bummer that good orgs like Food Not Bombs and buy nothing groups only exist on Meta/Facebook which I rage quit YEARS ago

Based on what I’m seeing on Reddit (r/supplychain and others), lots of businesses are understandably pausing overseas orders due to the chaos. Expect shortages.

I like Andor but I hope it’s full of Ewoks and Inquisitors with helicopter lightsabers and Hera Syndulla just to piss of the “Andor is good because it’s not really Star Wars” elitists

Remember how Bo-Katan gave Moff Gideon the Darksaber hoping that in doing so he’d stop the Great Purge, but then it… didn’t stop?

Yup even if the most extreme version of the tariffs never happens this game is still going to drive the economy into the dirt

It feels like it’s been 20 years since the state Supreme Court election

One funny thing is people on r/camping who name drop some tiny local campground like we should all know where it is and what it’s like

We’re going to put this genie back in this bottle and you’re going to like it.

As someone who started protesting in 2003, you HAVE to understand that most Americans have been trained to think that going to a protest is akin to joining the New Year’s Gang. Today was amazing.

Flower report: the first violets of the season #flowerreport

If Star Wars has taught me anything, it’s that isolating a location from trade is a humanitarian crisis (and I’m not even talking about the Prequels)

Trying to destroy small businesses because you can’t boycott Amazon if they’re the only ones left

I’m talking highly educated, mostly liberal folks who have a lot of faith in social norms, institutions and the rule of law. And I am not sure how they’re going to handle this.

Watching the “normalcy bias” folks around me slowly realize how fucked things are getting is… something.

Sure I can concentrate on writing my silly little conference paper on 19th century fishing.

Worth mentioning that “gilded” means “looks like gold on the outside but is crap on the inside.”

Not content to experience just the 1930s in Germany, we must now experience 1929 in America.

Well, the 70s aesthetic of patched up clothes will be coming back.

Good morning. From the purplest state in the nation to the richest man in the world - denied.

IDK, they’ve crushed the other part of the American Dream (the house and kids), cheap crap is all people have left.

Well, America, we did it, we managed to piss off ALL the Epcot countries.

In recent weeks I have upped the nerd level of the household by introducing my son and husband to Grand Admiral Thrawn. I have not, however, informed them that his actual name is Mitth'raw'nuruodo Kivu'raw'nuru

Ok but hear me out, what if single serving hot sauce packets become currency in the near future
