Apparently buttered noodles is the current discourse. I didn't grow up with it, though poor; our pasta had various forms of red sauce. Once I stayed over with a schoolmate, and got buttered + bit of cheese. I did like it. Then in grad school, Noodles&Co had it for sale. Perhaps also with cheese.
