A week ago today was one of the tougher hiking days of my life. Starting at 7k we would climb to 10k over ~12+ miles. First 6 miles however was mosquito purgatory. Swallowed & inhaled countless ones. Next 3 was a 2000' climb, and then 3+ to go. Reward?

24 hrs until I hit the trail for the 1st time in 2.5 years. Trying out what I call my UL^2 setup, that is, Ultra Light Ultra Luxury. Without water, but gas, food, and all luxuries you can imagine, starting out at <32 lbs for a 7 day journey is an achievement for me.
