Amazing!

I have a deadline embroidery to do - a very overdue 70th birthday present for a friend. We are visiting her on Tuesday next week so no time like the present I guess? This is the end of day 2 (I didn’t work too long on it).

I’m currently hooked up to an IV bum bag and tentatively ventured (masked as always) to the local shops this morning. Amazed that a few people walked straight at me, quickly, in the grocery store and it was me who had to get out of the way for safety I’m large and tall and not typically invisible.

Ego is such a dangerous thing. And it’s ego that stop you seeing that ego is at play.

There is nothing sadder than being packed and ready to load the car for a big solo road trip, and then realising you are feeling Not Very Well and so you cry for a bit and then cancel all your accomodation and plans. And then you have to unpack everything like nothing ever happened.

God I am sick of people today. Online people, mainly.

Another tough day in retirement - hitomezashi workshop in a bakery back room in Braidwood.

Something I've been banging on about for some time now: Peter Dutton is a multi-millionaire property developer He has been for all of his adult life. That's who he is & how he earns his wealth For a brief interlude in his 20s he was a cop, yet he and our media have defined him by that ever since

It’s a tough life, the northern beaches.

music.apple.com/au/album/aut... This is quite fabulous!

Going to bed dreaming of this amazing 50 metre rock pool at Palm Beach. Can you believe I’ll be there again next weekend? I freaking LOVE retirement.

Gutter rag.

As stunning as the ocean pools and general relaxation have been on my holiday, there is nothing quite coming home to your own bed, toilet, and local outdoor pool. An hour of much needed shoulder rehab and one-armed freestyle under the belt. #swimming

We got an apology and an offer of a partial refund.

Otherwise we are having quite the lovely time, despite the staircase-induced wobbly legs. Sitting out on the esplanade this afternoon, getting sunburnt while laughing at the people on the beach getting sunburnt was a 10/10 activity.

Hotel lift update number 352. I’ve sent a nicely worded email to the hotel outlining the issue, the fact it’s discrimination, and requesting at the very least a partial refund. I am not holding my breath but I guess I can always report them for discrimination and leave a zero star review.

FYI these are the hotel stairs I have to climb down every time I want to call the lift to get my husband. We can call reception to do it, but only from 8.30 to 6. I have myasthenia gravis aka wobbly legs, and I’m recovering from a right fractured shoulder - that single stair rail is impossible.

Wordle 1,334 2/6 ⬜⬜🟨🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Also I got Wordle in 2 💪🏼

But the holiday is going great despite the rampant ableism and inaccessibility of the hotel. Swam/mermaided at Fairy Bower rock pool this morning.

Hotel lift update - they are waiting for a part. And yes when I called in December to check their lift was working, it was. But then it broke. Apparently it’s not the done thing to call booked guests with that information. Anyway I’ll be requesting a partial refund. I researched this trip A LOT.

So I just pulled the “I’m paying $300 a night and the least I expect is a working lift especially when your guests are disabled.” She said she’s new but would “call someone.” But he could sit here all day just watching the surf and people pass by so how can I possibly insist we move hotel?

Booked a hotel room on the 1st floor which we access by lift. Great. We are both disabled. I leave to go back down to park the car to find the lift buttons don’t work on this floor. I either have to call reception (no number provided on notice) or walk down the stairs. I walk down the stairs.

We do love to be beside the seaside. #newcastle
