As a way to show gratitude this month, our building is using these leftover containers from Target to leave notes of gratitude in each others' mailboxes. Once a staff member receives a note, they place the container with a new note in someone else’s mailbox.

Students from ESL, Life Skills, and Learning Support created the flowers for Frida's floral crown. Then, used their knowledge about nouns and adjectives to write poetry using similes, similar to the story Frida Kahlo and her Animalitos. How are you celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in your school?

Spelling with Spheros! In ELA, my students used giant elkonin boxes with Sphero minis. Each student was given a word containing a final blend. They were then asked to segment the word into individual sounds while driving the Sphero across the boxes to represent each sound.

A back to school activity that I love to do with my students is this Lego Glasses Writing Activity. Each student is given a pair of Lego Glasses & asked to build at least 3 things that are meaningful to them. Then, they write a paragraph explaining what they put on their glasses!

Students have spent the past two weeks learning about how important mindset is. Before Ss took their growth measure assessment, I presented them with a STEM cup stacking challenge, but with 1 twist: Ss could not use their hands to stack the cups, they had to use popsicle sticks!
