I don't know exactly when this appeared in #SSMS Sql Server Management Studio, but YES! Now, when you close SSMS after closing your VPN instead of silently locking up until "something" times out - it shows you this dialog - and you can CANCEL it. For ppl like me who work remotely a LOT this is 💯
