So out of loop that I was initially confused by Mariners claiming Taveras, thinking "Okay great but where on the roster is he gonna go and who goes?"... forgetting that at the time they had two quad-A placeholder OFs on the roster in Rhylan Thomas and Samad Taylor. Well then, yeah, easy decision.

Going through the results of yesterday's Vancouver Marathon, and seeing how hard it is to negative split that race. The winner Dominic Arce did it. Only two other guys in the top 30 did it. 3rd place woman Claire Sumner did it + three other women in top 10 (Kat Drew, Eva Scott, Catrin Jones) did it.

I'm in Vancouver BC this week. Yesterday was the first time I got to watch the Vancouver Marathon. Pretty fun experience, actually. I can see why the crowds are so enthusiastic. I have a pretty good idea of what I need to do to get right and run it in 2026. Will spend the next year doing it.

Very brief jog in Vancouver this morning and... yeah, glad I decided ahead of time to drop out of the marathon Sunday 😂. Was gonna skip it no matter what, but I've been rather busy the last couple days and while aerobically I'm in great shape... my lower body is definitely not right now. Need rest.

I'll be in Vancouver soon. But at this point, barring a sudden overcast turn in the weather, I don't intend to run the marathon Sunday. Still going to do a lot of running while I'm there, but it likely won't be on the marathon course this Sunday. I'll still pick up my bib etc for posterity, though.
