It always help to have an outline. That’s a good starting place to help get the mind turning. And to have playlist blasting to get into the mood & focus. If really stuck, it doesn’t hurt to try writing prompts. Sometimes rewriting the opening until it gets the story flowing.

Celebrate small victories. If you've only written a handful of words today, that's still a handful of words more than yesterday. But the main point is, write *something* every day. You gotta keep moving forward; otherwise, it'll be harder to get started. #StartingOffWrite

#StartingOffWrite My advice is simple, just write. Don’t worry about getting every detail right the first time, there will be time to edit it later. And have fun with it! Writing can be such an amazingly enjoyable process, but it can also be frustrating sometimes so try not to get too bogged down.

A favorites is, “You can’t edit a blank page,” which I’m telling myself as I switch back to drafting after a long time in revisions. Another is find other writing friends! Writing can be lonely & querying is brutal, so finding friends to celebrate & commiserate w/ is essential #StartingOffWrite

The best advice I ever got was "Listen to your characters. They know the story better than you do." This helped me a lot when I'm stuck. They have loudly told me a few times what to do or what they wouldn't do lol listen to them. They are pretty smart lol #StartingOffWrite
