You know what's a good movie? O, from 2001, a high school retelling of Othello, in modern language. Came out 12 days before 9/11 and got lost in the shuffle (this after being delayed two years) because of Columbine. Mekhi Phifer, Josh Hartnett, Julia Stiles. It's on Criterion.
