i was almost skipping the after-tax 401k option that's available from this year at work because I already have it in my side income, but oh well the $70k limit is per employer not individual! So yes obviously I have to max out everything in both.

TIL Ruby's Time.parse can't parse "2025-02-01 00:00:00 JST" correctly and just slightly ignores the timezone bit and assumes the local TZ. Strangely it does work with PST, CST or EST, but not JST, CET etc.
