Did my first two fights at a Muay Thai scrimmage yesterday. Definitely a lot of fun, though there are things I need to fix. Like keeping my hands up so I don't tank four successive hard punches to the head. ^^; (To the concerned, I'm okay! I was wearing headgear and am not concussed.)

I finally did it! I ran three miles on the treadmill at a 9:50/mile pace! This was one of the benchmarks for the Muay Thai training I'm doing and I've been trying to whip my cardio into shape since January. My hamstrings are not happy with me, but we did it! :D

It surprises me how much more at peace I am with rejection and failure now. I'm a sensitive soul. I can't deny that that stuff still hurts. But now it's like, guess it happened. If I'm not what they wanted, it's their loss. If I need to improve, I figure out next steps. It's simpler that way.

The Good News: I didn't have a nervous breakdown again when doing pretty heavy Muay Thai sparring - and this time there were consecutive rounds and people were going much harder on me! 🥳 The Bad News: I took so many leg kicks that shorts won't be an option for a while! 🙃

Does anyone else get into a soup mood during the winter? Maybe because I miss my mom making certain kinds of soup for me, I've started making them myself. Namely the peanut and lotus root one, though I'm also going out to see if I can grab some bitter melons this round.
