On Plummers Island (maybe late 1880s?), early USDA entomologists Eugene A. Schwarz and Herbert S. Barber documented U.S. beetle fauna. Their fieldwork shaped modern entomology. Barber later discovered the life cycle of Micromalthus. We risk losing their legacy moving forward. #entomology #Coleoptera
