This week back from spring break was hard. My head was NOT in the game. As a result, I get to spend my weekend doing all the work I didn’t get done during the week. #slacker #twoweeksleft #endofsemester

Here are some of the failed shots from those four rolls of expired film in terms of color shifts and exposure issues. 🎞️ 📷 #expiredfilm #filmphotography

Shot some rolls of expired film (mostly 20-year-old 400 ISO shot at 100 ISO). The film was of largely unknown provenance. Don’t know how it was kept. Results were wildly inconsistent. Here are the best shots from four rolls. #filmphotography #filmisnotdead #believeinfilm 🎞️ 📷

the labor of art is mostly invisible. what you don't see in a finished piece is all the hours of thought it required, all the little discoveries and surprises and tragedies of production. art IS the process. if you aren't interested in the process, then i don't really know why you want to be artist

Developed another roll of mystery film found in a lot of cameras I won on eBay. Judging by the fashions and the tech I see in the images, I’m guessing this wedding happened in the early aughts. Not a soul had a cell phone out! #mysteryfilm #believeinfilm #filmisnotdead 🎞️ 📷

Got my first 110 photos back since the 80s. They definitely have that grainy lo-fi quality that I remember. 📷 Minolta Autopak 460T 🎞️ Lomography Tiger 200 Developing and scanning by The Darkroom. #believeinfilm #filmisnotdead #filmphotography

Just got back from a trip to Camden, Maine, and developed and scanned a roll of film I took with my half-frame camera. 📷 Yashica Samurai 🎞️ Kodak TMax 400 Developed in Cinestill DF96 Monobath Scanned with Epson V600 #filmphotography #filmisnotdead #believeinfilm #roadtrip

Happy Film Photography Day! Shot a test roll on a 📷 Yashica T* AF-D I salvaged from a parts lot. Looks like it works (except for the flash and the battery indicator). 🎞️ Arista Premium 400 (exp. 12/2014) Developed in Cinestill DF96 Monobath Scanned with Epson V600

And I am officially on spring break! Woot! Don’t have to think about work again until the 22nd. #springbreak

Won a lot of 25 mostly parts #cameras on eBay. Paid $80 including the shipping. Was a mix of 110s, APS, 35mm point & shoots, and SLRs. Was only able to salvage a handful of them, but one of those was this #Yashica. What a score! Had to clean out battery corrosion first, but then it fired right up!

Well, if you rely on purchasing cheap parts for your hobby from China, the party is most definitely over. Got a message from a supplier. Thanks to the tariffs, a $13.50 bag of plastic camera lens and body caps is now going to get slapped with a $50 import fee. That’s nuts.

At the beginning of March, I felt like a conspiracy theorist for shifting my retirement account investment strategy from “moderate” to “very conservative.” I’m glad I went with my gut on that. I’ve still lost money but not nearly the money I would have lost had I stayed the course. #arewegreatyet
