Sooo turns out my morning sickness has been triggered by motion sickness... from using screens of...any kind. So, I'll be limiting my computer use for work only, and even then for a maximum of 2 hours a day. Don't fear for me, I'm just touching all the grass. See you in about 9 months!

Elections are on in my country and the amount of people who are campaigning on cooked principles is equal parts amusing and astounding. They're just lying on their advertisements. About easily-checkable statements. It's wild.

Obligatory Not Catholic Anymore(tm) but society is about to find out how reasonable Pope Francis was compared to the rest of the Church.

First they came for the universities, where smart people do science and the people in charge don't like smart people doing science. Then they came for the autistic community, who tend to have a high correlation between academic employment and low support needs...

Autistic burnout? You mean being right?

Hello Thursday. 🖼️ DD McInnes

Your wallet is being cleaned out by expert pickpockets. This is criminal. Literally criminal. I call for an IMMEDIATE investigation into who knew what, when, and what they did with the info. You can bet the Admin and many here in DC are considerably richer tonight than they were this morning.

Smiling through tears as my GP prescribes another anti-nausea med for HG (there's a new one I hadn't heard of! It works a treat!) because I was rationing my 'starter pack' that they gave me 'just in case'. Madam this is my second rodeo, and it's already worse than my first.

Any tips on hiding a (loved, anticipated, just not ready to announce to family yet) baby bump from an observant Mother-in-law? I have about six weeks of escalating shenanigans to obscure my midriff before I'd like to make the announcement 😅

Every semester I gallantly agree to mark 300 students and every semester I get 10 papers in and really, really regret it. 😭 The paycheck and the end is nice but the avalanche of work is really intimidating at the start yo.

What doesn't kill me better run for it.

Accidentally wrote 'when you're a grown up' instead of 'when you're a graduate' on a student comment section and this is why you should never grade college papers while talking to your toddler. (It got fixed I'm not here to literally infantilize my students!)

Thanks for radicalizing my child against advertising, Youtube. Her playlist has been interrupted three times by annoying ads and she is DONE. (No we are not going to pay to get rid of ads. I'd rather buy the dvd direct and never use YT again).

Ah kid is sick, I'll be fine so long as- *gets sick* Well it'll be fine if I can just sleep it o- *kid wakes me 5x in the night* It's fine, I'll call in sick to work so I can re- *kid is sick at home WITH ME so I get to caretake them instead of myself* 😭 Going into sookie la-la mode today.

Ludwig is a delightful show about an autistic man working unexpectedly as a detective and my little Speccy family and I feel incredibly seen by David Mitchell's portrayal. A+, incredibly cosy.

Autism can be an absolute brick tied to my leg most days but the look my colleague gives me when I tell them I'm casually marking about 250 students (as a lighter workload than last semester) sometimes makes it feel worth it.

My dear students, I care for you as deeply as a person who only sees you for an hour a week can, but 9am on a Sunday morning is NOT the time to email me requesting clarification on an assessment due at 5pm Sunday afternoon. Shh no I'm not checking my emails.

If you send me a photo of your sunset I can tell you what Flavour(tm) it is. #autistic #synaesthesia

Explain* to me why, in possession of a wealth of cardboard boxes, my toddler is wailing outside because I've given them a bright sunny afternoon and total freedom to decorate/build/destroy/play Stompy Dinosaur Monsters with them. *No explanation needed. She's a toddler.
