Feb 22, 1943 Sophie Scholl was beheaded by guillotine by the Gestapo in Munich for high treason. She and the White Rose resistance movement distributed leaflets by hand calling for non-violent resistance to the Nazi Regime. Her brother&white rose member Christoph Probst were also beheaded that day
