PM Carney going to White House next Tuesday. He should not end up in the naughty chair to the right of Trump. That scene is a disaster especially if Vance and Miller are there. Opt for a stand up press conference after the meeting or better still no press conference.

NDP will “caucus” with Liberals in foreseeable future so a de facto majority. Will Carney be aggressive in trying to implement his version of a new deal while taking on Trump? G7 in June will be interesting. Unknowable is effect of American resistance movement on everything.

Liberal minority is not enough especially as Conservatives have done better than expected. Can the liberals count on what’s left of NDP and Bloc to avoid a non confidence motion sooner than later. This is quite disappointing because I fear our sensibilities of trying to keep values high is waning.

Rubio has announced major cuts at the State Department. The US will also likely be withdrawing from several multilateral organizations. Canadian diplomats have the skills set to fill those gaps which will be created.

Carney’s platform describes how he plans to make Canada self sufficient and a world leader. Pierre’s platform is same old same old with very little to offer in fighting annexation. The Carney plan is expensive but eyes on the prize for the return on investment. A positive plan for prosperity.

It is so ironic for us who lived through the Quebec and ROC (rest of Canada) skirmishes since the early sixties that Quebec and the ROC need each other desperately from the southern menace. Quebec in order to keep its language and culture and the ROC to keep its unique sensibilities. LFG

At Issue after the French debate was interesting. Chantal seemed agitated at her colleagues and their analyses likely because her expertise about Quebec is so superior to them. Also feels like she is the only one who believes it is a leadership election and not a policy or idea logical one.
