It's a beautiful day to sit with the cats, drink coffee and watch a Wim Wenders film

Keep thinking about how some random (probably drunk) lady shouted "you're such a cute couple" to me and my girlfriend in Oxford city centre on Friday night. Like I said - probably drunk but sweet lol

It feels crazy to say I'll be seeing either Nine Inch Nails OR Sparks, but back to back dates in London... Quite possibly a once in a lifetime event seeing my two favourite bands so close together.

If you're needing to do homework today - specifically maths, and needed something to motivate and educate - try this lengthy video about Nemesis.

Wouldn't normally do this but my favourite cinema risks getting shut down... If you love film, please sign and keep this wondrous place alive.

So excited to (finally) be seeing Nine Inch Nails in the summer... This felt very appropriate today

Storms are brewing tonight - would've been so cool to experience one in the damp, dusty Ruins.

I absolutely want Demi Moore to win the Best Actress Oscar for THE SUBSTANCE, I just think every seven days Margaret Qualley should get to borrow it.

Elated that Ghost Stories has re-emerged from the darkest depths of theatre. Such an incredible night revisiting one of my all-time favourite plays on the first night of the new tour - even met both the writers! Do whatever you can to see this masterpiece - you won't regret it.

Having a David Lynch Lunch in honour of the master. "Phenomenal"

Only done the Towers Fireworks once (usually working) but I'm hoping to change that in 2025 - although I say that every year... Also lol imagine getting a flat ride for a seasonal show but not for the park itself

The Dr Strangelove stage adaptation was really good - close enough to the original but with a few expanded bits and new jokes littered around. Surprisingly the party next to me hadn't seen the film, but I think they enjoyed it all the same.

Rewatched The Killing on a gorgeous 35mm print - I adore how much texture film accumulates, especially on an old B&W movie. Guy next to me clearly hadn't seen it before and seemed genuinely shocked and distressed by the ending.

One of the best things about being the workplace jester is you can crack jokes and do fun gags, and as soon as someone does a generic "what are you on lol" you can surprise them with "antidepressants"

We expect that some 50 Auschwitz Survivors will come to the Memorial for the 80th anniversary of the liberation. The eyes and ears of the world should rest upon them. We must safeguard their voices from silence, distortion, or being overshadowed. (Photo: https://buff.ly/4jd1BiU)

me: I think Miss Piggy is the perfect woman wife: ??? me: fashionista, loves herself, crazy horny, gaga for her man, can fight Wife: yeah I can't argue with that

If anyones after some Towers tunes to listen to but want something new(ish), I've started compiling a playlist of more "obscure" pieces of music that aren't as widespread online/heard on park much/unused compositions/marketing fanfares.

Am I the only one who has the legendary Roland Mack on their mantle? Just me?

Such a shame that it's hard to explore The Ruins nowadays (unless you feel like paying for it), but let's not forget the weird majesty of the real Alton Towers.

Back to school today but still daydreaming of Alton Towers? Plonk this on during your DT lesson, because not only is it educational, but it shows some great archive footage from the mid 90s.

The two talking cats

Here's a clean replica of Count Orlok's estate agents document that I made ages ago. Featuring the wonderfully incongruous esoteric symbols provided by the films producer/art drector and occult fan Albin Grau. Feel free to print out and tea stain the paper for your Nosferatu halloween costume...

May we never forget how the clowns just couldn't be contained within the Carnival of Screams.

Oh yes

New Year, New Topspin... So here's the OG Towers one, Ripsaw. Sadly I narrowly missed out on riding it, but at least I got plenty of laps on Rameses down south.

One of my favourite bits of old park tat is "White Knuckle", a weird tape from the mid 90s of British coasters. Excellent footage of early Nemesis & Big One, plus Thunder Looper, Vampire, Big Dipper...

Shame the Nemesis blood rivers aren't back for Reborn, but at least there are plenty of pictures, and this sneaky video of the dye being added.

Sure most people have a bit of time in the nether zone, so you might as well fill it with arguably *the* Alton Towers documentary. The Magic Factory is cheeky, honest - and an excellent snapshot of the park heading into the 21st Century.

Street entertainment has seen a wee resurgence at Towers, but let's not forget the old Bravo show

Tonight's setup confirms many cliches about myself

Beemo has a doppelganger!

Vaguely Christmassy one today - Air running in the snow many years back. Must've been a really fun time to ride it.

There aren't many videos about Towers - let alone those produced by the park themselves - that have such a great sense of humour, whilst still being so informative. I love how cheeky this video about the original Alton Towers Hotel is! If only there was one for Splash Landings.

Despite the urge, remember the following are all none of your business to ask about: Their size, weight, or any other body changes When they're going to get a partner When they're getting married When they're having a baby Why they're not drinking Unless they've opened up to you about it first.
