Left the toXic place and am rebuilding here. Also to the Left on the political spectrum. Interested in what directly affects me, so pro-EU, anti-US (especially now) and anti-monarchy. Suffered under Thatcher, so hate those parties to the Right (wrong).

Polls are polls and we are not 12 months since the election. However, if voters sleepwalk into a Reform/Conservative coalition, then Britain is truly in trouble. It’s okay having big ticket vote winners, but a country won’t run on them alone. #WakeUp www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/blogs/ec_vip...

These guys are small potatoes, but U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan (R-Penn.) sold up to $50,000 in Alibaba stock on March 4, the same day Trump announced tariffs. Its stock price rose by about 30 percent between his purchase and final sale, despite him campaigning to ban congressional stock trading.

40% of the world's dirty money is laundered through the UK and its crown dependencies and overseas territories. Laws passed to create impression but not enforced. 49,521 UK registered companies have not provided details of persons of significant control. Companies not struck off.

The stock portfolios of more than two dozen members of Congress outperformed the market in 2024. This isn't due to luck or skill. Lawmakers can use privileged information to trade stocks while they’re supposed to be working for you. Make no mistake, it’s legalized corruption.

People think money is real, mysterious and valuable. They still think gold is involved in the process. It’s actually nothing like that. It’s nothing more than numbers on bank statements. youtu.be/H-s-oz_xUUE?...

Peers behaviour over hereditaries makes most compelling case for Lords reform. As if an unelected upper house is not as bad as it already is. These people deserve to go and the whole thing reformed. www.electoral-reform.org.uk/leading-lord...

At least Gove will not have to worry about getting his coke, the House of Lords is rife with it.

Sums it up.

Don’t overthink this. He’s asking for bribes.

The sheer scale of this market manipulation is astounding. It won’t happen, of course, but an investigation into the big winners would be very interesting. Always follow the money.

The French would like to thank the UK for funding to them. 2020 - 2024: EDF owned by the French state made £91bn operating profit in the UK, subsidises French households/industry. UK govts oppose public ownership but happy to let foreign govts own UK infrastructure, export billions of profits.

Want to bring back manufacturing to your country? Read this... once again the world is just so much more complex that politicians believe. I don't agree with all the opinions within, but there's a lot here that is important. www.molsonhart.com/blog/america...

Manufacturing, production and assembly processes are not like the hosepipe in your back garden. You can’t just walk up and turn it on. The process of building the necessary infrastructure and estate is mammoth, let alone finding anyone who’ll take low wages. www.molsonhart.com/blog/america...

Some things are meant to hang about like a bad smell…

Trump’s a bit of an American idiot isn’t he? It’s hard to see how this turns around, within four years? He’s destroying all that’s gone before and I have to wonder who’s making a killing on these tumbling stocks?

This old drawing is far more relevant today than back in 2019. Britain is being picked off by the U.S., a minnow. United we stand and survive, divided we fall. Starmer is being suckered by Trump and thinks he’s being smart and winning - it’s going to be a huge mistake. This will not end well.

We were lucky to have this guy in a position of authority during Brexit, doing what he could to limit the damage. Canadians would be lucky to get him as prime minister. Let much the perfect candidate for this moment.
