I was admiring my Thai basil this morning so I figured I’d post a picture. Two kinds of Thai basil and behind the basil, a Thai chili pepper in aerogarden hydroponic set ups. (In the pots are spider plants, which are the only houseplants I can keep alive consistently.)

It wasn’t unusual for me to hear, “You’re weird, Moira” as a kid. (Or as an adult, for that matter.) I didn’t mean to be weird and never did get the hang of normality, and I was bullied for being different. Now, as an adult and as a writer, the bane of my existence as a child has become a strength.

This was just posted on a local group. Looking for human Sasquatch bait. Pays $500. Comments say the human bait will be “scented with pheromones” which intrigues the writer in me, but makes the rest of me say “Ewww!” I do have a half-finished novel about Bigfoot… but I think I’ll pass!

Morning plans - new writing project, hydration drink, and a high-protein breakfast of homemade sourdough toast with guac, cottage cheese, cherry tomatoes, & everything bagel seasoning. Plus my constant desk companion, Smudge, who showed up at our door 16 years ago and made herself right at home.
