I would pay extra to watch a sports broadcast with only graphics and no commentators. I just can't stand the constant banter.

My spouse and I got to do some snowshoeing while visiting with our college roommate in Steamboat Springs.

I just don't understand how it can be so cold for so long. I literally can't get anything done lately.

I'm dealing with a predatory bank that is reporting my account as delinquent even though it is not (and I have proof). But this is just how the world is now. You have to fight and fight just to have what was fair and decent before...and be expected to still focus on your work all the while.

There are a lot of things I just can't comprehend right now.

Tomorrow, NCAA lacrosse starts up. I'm both ready and not ready. I'm really enjoying the NLL this year, but I'll take more lacrosse any time.

So many new followers on Bluesky make me super happy! If you've followed me and own a Rivian (or any other EV), share a photo below and I'll give you a follow :)

I want to know who the person was who decided that putting the current incorrect spelling in the list of autocomplete suggestions on phone keyboards was a good idea. It was not.

The updated headius.com site is live, and as many of you recommended it's now running on CloudFlare with seamless SSL support. There's also purchase options for our middle-tier "Expert" JRuby support, with reasonable pricing for a great value. Support JRuby and we'll support you!

@danarestia.bsky.social I may just be reading into this too much, but I think box is O'Neill's calling. He just looks happier out there. It has been fun to watch him play for the Wings.

I spent 2 hours on the phone today trying to restore my credit card account which the bank "accidentally" deleted so I could make a payment after they reported it as delinquent to the credit bureau. Their fault, not mine. You really can't make up this level of dysfunction.

You won't believe this. My team and I make this show called SciShow that works hard to be rigorous and accurate while also being appealing and entertaining. We reach a LOT of people every year with episodes about crabs and neutrinos and gender and cancer and vaccines. It's great, I love it.

Bluesky now has a quick account switch function from your avatar. Nice!

This took me by surprise today. I need to use it a bit more before I'm prepared to share my impressions.

I don't need anyone to explain to me what I know to be true. The medical system in the US is broken. It's disjointed, it's understaffed, it's greedy, it's overpriced, & it's dysfunctional. I would highly encourage you to get used to being your own advocate. It will not take care of you on its own.

When I get overwhelmed, I practice lacrosse as an outlet to process it. By the looks of things, my lacrosse prowess is going to dramatically improve over the next few years.

It’s a sunny but very cold morning here in Colorado. Temperatures in °C and °F right now.

Tomorrow is going to be a terrible day in history. But tomorrow my best friend will still be alive. And that is a blessing I can latch on to.

After slipping several times last week on the beaded turf, I picked up a pair of New Balance Freeze v5 turf shoes. Holy moly do they dial up the contact friction! Not only did I stay upright, but I was getting more power out of every stride. Level up! On top of that, another goal on my stat sheet.

A metaphor.

The facts are, the ACA saved millions with pre-existing conditions and set standards for care. But now, more than a decade later, with what we now know, it’s time to take the insurance companies out of the mix. The subsidies they get are enormous. We don’t need them as middlemen.

The mental health care system in the US is fucked.

The medicaid system has failed my friend and his family.

I never realized using the GitLab Runner was so easy. I'm having fun with this, running jobs on my local machine.
