MAS*H was perfect TV because it realized the film's meanness and misogyny was a weakness. The characters needed to grow. Letting Major Houlihan change from being a tight-assed scold subject to misogynistic pranks to a fully formed woman was necessary. Loretta Swit made it happen naturally. RIP.
