Fabulous work of UK artist Annie Ovenden who is based in Cornwall and is known for her tree and landscapes studies. I particularly like the ones that include birds which add another dimension.

Beautiful markings and stonework at Portsoy harbour in N.E. Scotland. The old part of the harbour stone walls were built in 1692. I could spend a happy hour or two photographing details. Maybe even make a handmade book. I think I will! #abstract #photography 📷

I live in North East Scotland where there are some lovely coastal villages and features. This is Bow Fiddle Rock located in Portknockie, so called because it resembles a fiddle bow. I just see an elephant. #coast #monophotography #sea #blackandwhite 📷

Not long now before the Artists' Bookmarket @fruitmarket.bsky.social 15-16 Feb - very much looking forward to showing my work and connecting with all the other artists and visitors. Do drop by and say hello!

I live in a very agricultural area with big open fields, so it's always a bit of challenge photographically. Abstracts shapes are one way round it. #ruralabstracts #abstract #photography #Aberdeenshire 📷

You may have heard of my side project Biblioscapes.com which I started in September 2020 to share my photobook collection. There are over 500 books and zines and over 150 episodes of the In Discussion podcast. I am going to try using this as a thread to share from the archive. #photobooks

Delighted that my books have been nominated for Favourite Scottish Nature Photography Book in the Scottish Nature Photography Awards. If you would like to vote for them, that would be lovely. scottishnaturephotographyawards.com/bookvote/

I had a lovely time in a wood with my 'big' camera and tripod today. I always like woodland after heavy rain which we've had for the last few days. #trees #woods #photography 📷🌳

A pair of my favourite trees close to home. They always look interesting no matter what surrounds them. #trees #photography 📷🌳

Here's an artists' book I made that's inspired by the work of Dutch artist Herman de Vries. I used dried pressed autumn willow leaves that highlight the marks caused by caterpillars in spring and summer. The pages fold back into an integral handmade box. Happily sold. #artistsbook #handmadebook 🌳🍂
