Honoured to meet with Poppyscotland today to discuss the vital support they provide to veterans and their families. Their work in housing, employment, and mental health services makes a real difference in the lives of those who have served. @monicalennon.bsky.social @colinsmythmsp.bsky.social

Applying for a postal vote or are you making changes to an existing postal vote for the Scottish Parliament by-election for the Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse constituency on Thursday 5 June? The deadline is 5pm on Tuesday 20 May. For more info, see https://orlo.uk/cpb5m

Recalling a constituent's story about her father's suffering from pancreatic cancer, @monicalennon.bsky.social makes the case for palliative care AND the choice of assisted dying "the status quo is failing dying Scots"

My lSunday Mail column today confronts the wolf in sheep’s clothing called Nigel Farage. He’ll eat working class people alive given half a chance. #RejectReformUK

Sir David Attenborough at 99 continues to inspire and provoke bold action to protect and boost the recovery of our natural world. Ocean is a thrilling call to action to stop ecocide and save our seas. www.newstatesman.com/ns-interview...

Scotland’s system for investigating sudden and unexplained deaths is outdated. My constituents Ann and Gerry Stark are fighting for change following their son’s death. The Lanarkshire couple and the Crown Office went to Lancashire on a fact finding mission. www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottis...

Alcohol-related deaths in Scotland are at their highest since 2008. Today more than 70 organisations are calling for urgent action to reduce alcohol deaths, including a comprehensive strategy that delivers clear leadership and plans for prevention as well as recovery treatment and care services.

A lovely evening chatting to people in West Craigs about their priorities. Our candidate Davy Russell will be a strong local champion for our communities across Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse constituency.

Ecoside Law in Scotland fringe with @monicalennon.bsky.social at #STUC25. The climate crisis represents one of the greatest threats to peace & security and to the quality of life of our members and the young people they teach. Urgent and immediate action is needed.

One final run before the marathon and made it to the 40km marker (without the preceding 40kms!!) Last plea for donations for two brilliant local charities - michaelshanksmp.co.uk/marathon Good luck to everyone taking on the London Marathon tomorrow!

The final honor guard for Pope Francis included migrants, prisoners, transgender people, the homeless and others selected by the Vicariate of Rome as a symbol of the late pope’s mission of inclusion and outreach. Read more from the funeral: wapo.st/3YdDGqM

What will the proposed #ECOCIDE bill in #Scotland mean for jobs, justice and the economy? Don't miss this (in-person) panel event @ Scottish Trade Union Congress 2025 in #Dundee on Tues 29 April! www.stopecocide.eart... #StopEcocide @monicalennon.bsky.social @lesswastelaura.bsky.social

Thrilled to support my colleague @monicalennon.bsky.social at her reception marking #EndometriosisActionMonth. Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women, with an average diagnosis time of nearly 9 years and long waits for gynaecology appointments.

NASUWT is delighted to be attending this evening's reception, hosted by Monica Lennon MSP @monicalennon.bsky.social at the Scottish Parliament, to mark Endometriosis Action Month. Fantastic to see so many MSPs engaging on women's health.

This is a worrying sign of whats going on in usa and here, women being excluded and finding its better for them to just walk away because the male dominated field is so toxic

So true, Debra. I remember when many male colleagues were allies in the Women 50:50 campaign. Media and political event panels now regularly have no or few women. Men continue to be overrepresented. Women can’t fix this alone. Men have to check their privilege and change their behaviours.

In my latest Sunday Mail column ⬇️ Why many women, not just high profile figures like Nicola Sturgeon, are turning their backs on toxic politics. A warning to the UK government not to demonise disabled people. And worthy praise for courageous ovarian cancer campaigners lobbying Parliament.

Solidarity with Monica who is a tireless campaigner in our constituency

I spoke to the @dailyrecord.co.uk about a deeply unpleasant incident during the General Election campaign last year. Safety must be improved as engagement with voters is central to democracy. www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politic...

Great to attend the Target Ovarian event with @monicalennon.bsky.social today and meet patients. Around 600 women in Scotland are diagnosed with ovarian cancer yearly—early detection is key. Learn the symptoms below & contact your GP if needed. #OvarianCancerAwareness

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues as Israel still blocks urgently needed aid. We have donated £1000 to the @scotnational.bsky.social fundraiser for MAP - Medical Aid for Palestinians. @medicalaidpal.bsky.social Please help the fundraiser reach the target of £50,000.

I’m looking for someone new to join my team in the Scottish Parliament . To be considered for the Parliamentary Researcher role please apply before 18 March deadline. 🔗 ce1046li.webitrent.com/ce1046li_web...

This is the MOST DELICIOUSLY EMBARRASSING THING you will see all week, if not all month. Richard Tice car crash in Scotland. He doesn't know the full names of the two Reform UK defectors or which council they are from. It truly deserves to go viral.

Let’s not go back to a time where trans people could not go to work safely, use services that met our needs, or use public spaces freely. Read our thoughts: www.scottishtrans.org/responding-t...

C4’s Lindsey Hilsum is great: proper, no punches pulled analysis. “There is no peace process.” “The man who will be happiest is Vladimir Putin.” “What it looks like is Zelenskyy was lured into a trap.”

Ramadan Mubarak/Kareem to Muslims around the world who are observing this month of reflection and charity. May this be a month of peace for us all, and provide steps towards justice for too many of us living under harm and oppression.

Tackling the far-right will require everyone. It's right that the First Minister will bring unions, civic society & political institutions to together against hatred and division. We've defeated fascism before. We can do it again. To do so, politicians must play their role too.

It is frightening that someone would set up a ‘trans genocide’ email account and abuse a member of the LGBT community. Whipping up fear and hate has far-reaching consequences for LGBT and marginalised people. Making trans people less safe does not make women and girls safer. Enough is enough.

Massive thanks to @monicalennon.bsky.social and other @scottishlabour.bsky.social MSPs for joining us and Govan Law Centre at our fringe event on Child Poverty and the Public Debt Crisis at #ScotLab25 last weekend. A clear resolve for doing debt recovery differently to help end child poverty.

“We must not isolate. We must stay in community. We must help the vulnerable. We must find ways to project an inspiring vision of the future.” — @janefonda.com Congratulations on earning the 60th SAG Life Achievement Award, Jane. You never cease to amaze us.

One of the many positives about Scottish Labour conference was the opportunity to stand up for trans people. We have more work to do, in our party and in our communities, to protect and progress LGBT rights. #ScotLab25 @dhothersall.bsky.social @slabcampaign.bsky.social

I am proud to serve as a Scottish Labour and Cooperative Councillor. As a member of the Scottish Coop Party I am proud to champion the values of the Cooperative movement—unity, fairness, and solidarity. Together, we can build a better future for all! #ScotLab25

Education rightly featured heavily at Scottish Labour conference. Standing up for quality education is crucial. By listening to teachers, school workers, pupils and families, we are developing policies and plans to boost learning and skills in Scotland. #ScotLab25

🌹The motion called on the UK and Scottish governments to reverse the decision to means test winter fuel payments and support campaigns to encourage eligible pensioners to apply for pension credit. Read more here: labourlist.org/2025/02/scot...

Great to see @monicalennon.bsky.social at #ScotLab25 ! Thanks for your continued support for a Scotland that does #BetterForBabies and for meeting the 2030 child poverty targets 🎯

Thank you to @monicalennon.bsky.social , our pulmonary rehabilitation champion, for visiting our stand at #ScotLab25 and standing up for people with lung conditions

We're looking forward to our joint fringe event at #ScotLab25 with Govan Law Centre on tackling the public debt crisis. We're delighted to be joined by @monicalennon.bsky.social. If you are heading to the conference this weekend come and join us on Friday at 5.30pm. ⬇️
