Owns too many books. Likes James Bond (esp. Sir Tim of Dalton), Star Trek, Blakes 7, Doctor Who & Quatermass. And that is me smiling.

#Columbo is on tv. Jose Ferrer who played the Emperor in David Lynch's Dune is a scientist type person. I bet he's the murderer.

👀

Justify your job in 5 bullet points saying what you did last week... Hope orange guy got the email. * Went for a drive * Played golf * Phoned Vladdy * Played golf * Played golf www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Ian Fleming's original James Bond novels haven't aged well. For example, Moonraker - published almost exactly 70 years ago in April 1955 - features a villain who's a super-rich industrialist and rocket-maker seeking to cause chaos because he's a secret Nazi. Such a silly idea!

#NowWatching #DoctorWho The Rings of Akhatan. This is one I do remember because I actually kind of liked the whole bonkers concept of singing to a god to keep him sleeping. Plus, Clara.

Absolutely @eddavey.libdems.org.uk

i just typed in yellow jacket (local bar) to the parish (local venue) in on google, because i wanted to know how far apart those two places are, and instead google decided that was an aphorism and gave me an entirely fake definition of it i actually felt secondhand embarrassment for the computer

Today's front page of The New York Post.

These stories are not discussed as widely in the Western press as they ought to be, so it's good to see The Telegraph giving this some attention. www.telegraph.co.uk/global-healt...

Reminder: Zelenskyy refused to leave Kyiv as bombs fell. Donold hid in a bunker from protesters with cardboard signs.

48% of Brits believe it is more important for the UK government to support Ukraine than to maintain good relations with the US

No notes

AI occasionally has its uses. The next #JamesBond movie already has a villain ready to go.

Oh my word. This is huge #JamesBond news. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

“We will never forget the respect the British people have shown for Ukraine and our citizens” President Volodymyr Zelensky after his call with Prime Minister Keir Starmer tonight 👏

Dark Odesa without electricity after the russian attack.

Glad to see a little hint of spine from the UK on this. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

One of my experiences as a government official was that when the UK and France agreed on something, joint progress could be made pretty quickly. Reading between the lines, this is happening with regard to Ukraine and Trump. A small ray of hope in an otherwise bleak day.

Today I finally went to see Captain America Brave New World. And it was Pretty Decent. Nice to see The Eternals finally referenced. And the brightly colored new president having a tantrum and smashing up the White House (symbolising democracy and stuff) was on point.

Trump, the most thin-skinned man in politics, goes full on for Zelenskyy.

Oh, one of these stories.. Show some originality. Cast him as Professor Quatermass. www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/davi...

I hope America is as lucky as the delta jet - everyone survives but the right wing explodes

Gutted to read that cover artist Chris Moore died earlier this month. He was best known for his science fiction cover work, but I became a fan via the covers he did for the Craig Thomas thrillers in the 1980s. I was fortunate to exchange emails with Chris about his work some years ago. A real loss.

I doubt anyone who follows me is from #Coleraine but I just discovered the Asda car park is becoming a McDonalds. Seriously, have the planners missed how busy the Lodge Road roundabout is? How is it going to cope with a convoy of BMWs going to the drive thru? www.newsletter.co.uk/business/wat...

All of this — per @ioponomarenko.bsky.social:

FBI cancels community outreach programs for seniors

Admittedly many people’s issue with the character was the execution, but “Batman v. Superman” making Lex Luthor a spiteful twitchy tech dweeb with daddy issues and concepts of a plan feels really on point these days.

By Ukrainian measures this is optimism

Alongside the "for fuck's sake, you're richer than god, pay some copywriters" thing, the lack of *care* is fully jokerising me. Just..."our customers are dumb pigs who deserve slop. They're paying us, and they don't deserve human thought going into what they receive." I hate it so, so much.

Sheesh…so this just happened to a Delta flight from Minneapolis landing in Toronto….the airport announced that everyone on board is accounted for 🙏

#NowWatching #DoctorWho The Bells of Saint John. Re-Re-Introducing Jenna Coleman as Clara. First time watching since 2013. All I remember is them riding a motorbike up the Shard. Don't remember anything about these WiFi goings ons.

A stream of often contradictory statements from Trump’s team about Ukraine, Russia, and the peace deal procedure hints that the new U.S. administration rushed to start peace talks without a clear plan.

I know you don't like it when I bring here stuffing Twitter. But, guys, it's 3 years anniversary of the most delusional take in history

Not even six hours apart.

🧵"So this is how liberty dies..." Trump’s first 3 weeks have been a relentless flood of actions. It's incredibly hard to keep up. I’ve gone through 69 actions & mapped out the pattern - showing how they fall within 5 broad domains consistent with authoritarian states 1/9

And on FOX NEWS, no less.
