My dad served in the Army during WWII. I am an Air Force vet, also proud to be a lifelong Democrat. My heart aches for how my dad and his generation would react to a new growth of Nazi fascism in his own country. We need to learn from the past.

The root that tears apart your foundation begins as a seed of distrust, hate, and blame. The seed that grew into a dictatorship in Europe didn’t arrive overnight. It started with everyday Germans mad about inflation and looking for someone to blame.

I’ve always been interested in the history of WWII as my father served during the war in Europe. But now I’ve become immersed in the rise of H1tler, his biography, the many sycophants surrounding him, and the countless similarities (and differences) with Trump. It’s truly eye opening and scary.
