The Utah House just passed a bill that bans public unions from bargaining for their members. We now have to meet individually with our leaders. So, when it comes time to negotiate pay increases, I hope superintendents clear their schedules to meet with 500 teachers. www.kuer.org/politics-gov...

I enjoy letting my students request songs for our class Spotify playlist. Last week one of my boys thought it'd be funny to choose a march from Nazi germany. I hate that we have celebrities teaching our kids that they can do and say hateful things as long as they wink and say they were kidding.

When teachers complain about not having enough planning time, most are not complaining about having to plan. They are complaining about not having time because they have too many classes, students, bosses, parents, duties, meetings, and paperwork. This solves the wrong problem.

It's a small detail, but I learned from my Spanish-speaking students that in math they say "divided among" instead of "divided by" and that might be a clearer way of explaining what division is. #EduSky
