Not my home, but I know my way around!

This is a new one for me. The air temperature is 30 degrees (19 wind chill), and they are spraying water liberally at halftime. Is this normal? Does the Crew do this?

Time for some live soccer again. Let's go #crew96

🗞️ Today in Government Officials Who Don't Understand how Data Processing Works (And Are Allowing it to be Used to Harm Americans). Let's take a look at the claim "data doesn't lie", shall we? 🧵

This truth is what I find particularly galling about any rushed change to aviation policy right now.

I want to remind everyone that your local library is both physical AND digital. You hate streaming everything because the price is ridiculous? Library. You hate ads because they're every 3 mins or less? Library. You want to reduce your digital footprint? Library. You want sourced info? Library.

A thread of my favorite letters updated for 2025. (In alphabetical order.) 1) C (1/25🧵)

Today's moment of wonder is apparently these images from the BepiColombo mission to Mercury - an encouraging reminder that we are capable of doing impressive things and learning much about what surrounds us. www.esa.int/Science_Expl...

I'm trying to remember if there's ever been a Finnish player on #Crew96 ...

Does anyone remember (better than I do) a research effort by LLM developers into explainability - specifically a model's internal construction of a game's rules? More specifically, the ability to manipulate that internal construction, with predictable changes to the model's output?

Some interesting conversations today at work around this article, which I think is a decent summary (and warning) about the directions that search is taking by some providers. www.technologyreview.com/2025/01/06/1...

I was glad to get a chance to practice my data analysis and visualization skills a bit over the last few days, inspired by a post on the MLS subreddit. The result is this - a series of plots and code showing how teams across MLS have performed year-over-year: github.com/matt-bernhar...

It can be very humbling to get back into a tool you used to use nearly daily and realize how much you've forgotten about using it. I saw a plot on Reddit the other day that made me want to try a different variation, so I'm jumping back into R. Ooh boy, there's so much I need to re-learn.

I absolutely don't support the #Crew96 ownership deciding to play next year's most "marquee" game in a stadium 140 miles away. League games should be played at home, nowhere else. This is how you build and respect history, heritage, and community. Play games elsewhere as tours, exhibitions, etc.
