Did Trump really institute a “no fatties” policy at his Fort Bragg rally??

If John McCain had been alive to watch Trump at this parade after Fort Bragg and deploying the military in LA this week, it would've killed him.

Trump’s military parade today, along with his political rally at Fort Bragg and the deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles, has inflicted serious reputational damage on the United States Army.

President Trump sold his merch at Fort Bragg before speaking to military

David Pepper on the fiasco at Fort Bragg is well worth reading. 👇

"This has been a bad week for the Army for anyone who cares about us being a neutral institution," one commander at Fort Bragg...on the condition of anonymity to avoid retaliation. "This was shameful. I don't expect anything to come out of it, but I hope maybe we can learn from it long term."

This. This ALL day.

Cuomo doesn’t just get to rehabilitate himself from sexual harassment because he’s rich and powerful. He gets to because he’s a man. It’s the same situation for everyday, ordinary men, while women from all walks of life are not just denied justice but punished for asking for it

So the guy who can singlehandedly set US tariffs on smartphones is launching his own US smartphone company do I have that right

I just like to post these data from time to time to puncture the mythological aura of mid 20th c protests. They were less popular than pretty much any 21st c mass action & people criticizing them used the same lines. Protest is about people coming together, shaping narratives, & building power.

All snark aside about the terrible Atlantic piece in favor of the fascist parade or the general downplaying of #NoKings, if you're going to take action, it's helpful to know that MSM orgs rarely support acts of protest. As a rule, they dismiss protestors or paint them as violent thugs. Be prepared.

It is so outrageously ableist to say we should ban masks & stop people from protecting their health & the health of those around you. COVID is still spreading. People are still dying from COVID. Millions of people are struggling with #LongCOVID. And COVID is just one of many reasons to mask

Just want to take a moment to shout out the international reporters helping us get the real story out. When an 80-year-old veteran with a walker is hauled off with his hands zip-tied behind his back, and the media spins it as a “threatening breach” of a police barricade

I dunno if like three to five times as many random people were in the streets to protest as there are total members of the entire military (active duty plus reserves) I might make that more than a one-day story instead of the limp, sad-trombone parade he forced on a few of those military members

Curfew was set for 8pm. LAPD started corralling protestors more than an hour before, not letting them leave, so that they could be arrested for violating curfew. Oh, and all nearby Metro stops were closed, so even if they tried, they COULDN'T leave. www.latintimes.com/lapd-accused...

The Department of Defense was created to protect us, but who is going to protect us from THEM?

All the other autocrats...

I was curious how the police showed up when the gunman was still at Hortman’s house. They went out of caution. Big ups to this sergeant www.nytimes.com/live/2025/06...

Newsom’s social media team is killing it. (This isn’t an old picture. It’s from right now. I asked.) 😂😂😂😂

Donald Trump does NOT want you to share this footage of his pathetically tiny birthday parade crowd.

Just showed my older child this picture. “Huh, no one came to his birthday party did they”

BREAKING: Vance Boelter, the man being sought in the killing of a Minnesota state legislator and her husband and the shooting of a state senator and his wife, is an ordained missionary who has preached in Congo in recent years. religionnews.com/2025/06/14/s...

This may be the best thing I’ve seen all day - do play the video.

Who was MN Rep. Melissa Hortman in the MN Legislature? READ about her consequential leadership in this THREAD by @taniel.bsky.social. Take the time.

Minnesota has exceptional local news. @mprnews.org and @startribune.com know their communities and will steer you right.

Don't announce online you're going to protest. If you recognize someone at protest, no you don't. Don't fall for "Anyone going to protest?" posts. Don't take selfies. Don't pick fights. Leave phone & plastic home. Write contact phone number on your arm. Learn about kettling. Hydrate.

Padilla: If this is how DHS responds to a senator with a question you can only imagine what they're doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and throughout California.

Important for US activists to understand that laws cannot protect you. Armed soldiers are on the steets. They are violently arresting judges and mayors and US Senators. They are kidnapping people from churches, elementary schools, and hospitals. Your only protection today is anonymity, opsec,

About 20% of participants reported ongoing health struggles a year post-infection, highlighting the long-term mental toll of the virus and the need for better support.

The AP News Feed can be viewed...live...on YouTube. And I swear the Cameraman is having a hard time finding stuff to film. The protesters are peaceful. The Police are standing around. The Natty Guard and Marines are nowhere to be seen, and thus, NOT NEEDED IN L.A.!!!

It is 100% carrying water for the opposition to participate in this collective delusion that Dems for some reason need to answer for every teen who throws a rock rather than hold the Trump admin accountable for intentionally creating chaos and breaking the law to stoke violence. They are in charge.

For decades the NRA and other gun nuts told us that their guns were to protect us all from a tyrannical government. So a tyrannical government is here, they are all sitting on their asses, and the people who want gun control have taken to the streets to defy the tyrannical government instead.

There’s brutal irony in the fact that the man who gamed due process to escape justice for dozens of crimes is now using military force to silence protests about due process being denied while calling innocent people the criminals.

I’m not telling anyone how to protest but I am saying the optics of the police and marines being violent against protestors decked out in red white and blue waving American flags would be undeniably bad…

Reporters, looking for actual CDC employee reactions to this news? You can quote us: "What the actual 🤬?"

" I also believe that those of us who are older, whiter, safer from the threats of state violence do not have the moral ground to lecture the younger, browner and blacker, more directly impacted demographic on what they should and should not do." www.meditationsinanemergency.com/some-notes-o...

A massive supermarket strike is brewing, with 150,000 workers moving toward a walkout. 56,000 workers in Washington, Idaho and Oregon have voted to authorize strikes at Albertsons and Kroger. Grocery workers across Colorado have also authorized a strike, and more could follow.

Catching up on my DVR on a crazy week. When did @nflnetwork.bsky.social decide to give us an all women episode of #GMFB?!?! This is amazing! Hope it can be an occasional thing. Great show! Daily viewer since '16. GREAT job to @cfrelund.bsky.social Jamie Erdahl, Jane Slater and Kelsey Conway.
