nope :D
i even tested to see if the built-in line in on my mobo is good enough (it is) only to be disappointed 15 seconds later. the phone only has its own (what i assume is) proprietary power port and That's It

the os specifically prohibits sending them via bluetooth (or mms lol) tho so idk if there's a lot can be done. there is a ring notification sound that is NOT from any of the games and id love to use that on my actual phone tho LOL
the ringtones themselves seem to be just music from the mobile port

i tried looking around, but the phone's os is very locked down (as it was norm for phones from 2005)
i dont really think there is an easy way to dump it, but it's also so close to the publicly available version that i don't think it's worth it

yes LOL

in hindsight i should've maybe tried to make that correction myself but better late than never
also, i tried. i cannot send the ringtones and wallpapers to another device. same with the game, they are just stuck there
it's mostly identical to the other java version anyway tho

ok i was gonna say even sonic retro isn't aware of this version of the game, but turns out there is an edit from september 2024 on this page that mentions it! the last time i checked they were (wrongly) claiming that it was the other version that was bundled

you'd think it's this one

but actually no! there is no "iFone" branding anywhere, and the whole game is in a single part. it IS a J2ME game, though
i could find an old news article about it on a... physics site of all places

the internet should serve us, not the other way around

it's a slow erosion of agency, and the consequences are already playing out in how people engage with news, politics, and even reality itself
but the biggest danger isnt that the internet is treating people like passengers rather than drivers, its that many people dont even want to drive anymore

it doesnt matter in the end. in either case we have no control
most people don't even seem to notice this though. or if they do, they just don't care. because we are actively being conditioned to prioritize ease over autonomy. passive consumption over active exploration
and convenience always wins

modern internet is like a self driving car that decides where the destination is, on its own
like, i wanna go to the beach. so i hop into my car and it brings me to the shopping mall. either because the car decided on its own, or because the owner of the mall paid the car manufacturer

i feel like this is partially why i dont like algorithms much. instead of giving me what i want, they decide what i _should_ want
to me, that's the opposite of what the internet is supposed to be. it's supposed to be a tool. a tool i cannot control is a bad tool

when i talk to people on discord, im not talking to discord, im talking to people. when i look up information online, im not asking the internet to answer it for me, im looking for existing resources. the internet is just the medium that delivers this. its only job is to connect me to other people

it's a bit of a trick, because they are hiding the real cost of the controller within the shipping costs (it's like 15 dollars or something). the actual price is way closer, and at that point you might as well just get the ultimate
i do really like the controller despite the issues i had tho
comment in response to
post
despite being a blatant ripoff of the 8bitdo ultimate controller i actually really like it, it has weirdly shallow shoulders which work really well for me
...it also has a kind of shitty battery life and turns itself off automatically way too quickly. also, i still cannot pair it to the dongle LOL

"We're always thinking about how do we put tools in the hands of creators so that they can create things that they haven't been able to create before."
phil the whole point of the thing is to recreate existing games in ai, what are you talking about phil
PHIL

i have never heard of that one and i wont look it up to keep my sanity

it's like he saw the ai minecraft demo and didn't realize that minecraft was just an example there. this stuff isn't for gaming. it's for ai video generation where you can control the camera and shit. you cannot get a consistent output ANYWAY
we are reaching peak levels of stupidity

"These models and their ability to learn completely how a game plays without the necessity of the original engine running on the original hardware I think opens up a ton of opportunity."
it DOESN'T learn how a game plays, it learns how a game LOOKS. it generates VIDEO that looks like the game. PHIL

"You know, one of the things we care a lot about at Xbox is game preservation."
dude, on series x pretty much every old xbox game worth playing can be emulated
is he lost??? does he know what company he's heading????
comment in response to

does he genuinely think we can train these models to just emulate games??? i thought he was gonna talk about ai post processing to remaster games, which is a dogshit idea but it's at least POSSIBLE
no he's proposing an EMULATOR????????? gotta be one of the dumbest things ive heard an executive say
