Some of our #wildflowers are so incredibly minuscule they are very easy to miss! This week’s challenge is to get your specs 🤓 on & see if you find any #tinyplants in bloom. Share your finds for #WildflowerHour this Sunday 8-9pm! Happy teeny flower spotting! 🧐🌸🌿

Eye-opening graph. The biggest wildfire incidents in the UK don't occur when it's hottest, in high summer: they take place in April - *when landowners set fire to their grouse moors & lose control of burns.* Time to ban moorland burning. Source: www.iucn-uk-peatlandprogramme.org/sites/defaul...

My dog's so tired from a huge walk and pub breakfast this morning that he couldn't even be bothered to bark when there was a delivery. He just stayed laying down belly up and groaned a bit 😅

A deeply unserious creature living his best pub dog life ❤️

“People call [the antiscience movement] ‘misinformation’ or ‘the infodemic’ as tho it’s just random junk out there on the Internet or social media, and it’s not— it’s organized, it’s well-financed, and it’s politically motivated.” — Dr. @peterhotezmdphd.bsky.social in @sciam.bsky.social

The pro-privatisation healthcare lobby claim “the NHS hasn’t been privatised” by pointing out that it still exists. What a load of nonsense - the NHS logo was carefully and cleverly branded in the 1990s and is now added to letterheads and buildings of privatised services. …

Science isn't that thing you read in textbooks, it’s a screaming, electric godzilla of curiosity stomping through the unknown, chewing up illusion, frying ignorance, and farting out progress.

It’s camas flowering season 😍🌱

I was researching something totally unrelated that I'm working on and this video came up as a result for some reason, saying that you can drink water directly from Sphagnum moss. Bryophyte people, see anything wrong here? www.instagram.com/undepend.bus...

At this age I simply don't have brainspace to watch anything other than 90s Star Trek, sorry

How about a campaign for people who study/work in cafes to invest in noise cancelling headphones so they don't spend their time scolding people talking at completely normal volumes and behaving totally respectfully in public! Wouldn't that be fun!

It shouldn't have to be like this. An entire minority shouldn't be sitting, terrified, that the UK Supreme Court is going to remove their rights off the back of a decade-long hate campaign. It shouldn't have to be like this.

One of the strangest things about healthcare in the UK is that so many people will argue against screening and early intervention because it will lead to wild overtreatment, as if doctors nowadays aren't perfectly capable of discernment in what they act on.

Tried our first Plathood order and it....didn't show up. Jacket potatoes for dinner ensued.

Solar farms can host up to three times as many birds as crop fields, study shows theprogressplaybook.com/2025/03/22/s...

The Salish Sea is exploding with life right now! Neoturris breviconis off the dock on San Juan Island. #invertebrates #zooplankton

I got some itty bitty sundews yesterday! Drosera roseana.

This is very odd misinformation from BBC Bitesize. Home decor is absolutely not the first step to home education, and it's very classist to suggest that creating a specific classroom in the home is needed. #homeeducation www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/art...

Don’t mind me. I’m having a Myosurus moment.

The UK car industry contributes £22bn to the economy and employs c 35k people. Universities contribute £265bn and employ nearly 400k, over 10x as much. Yet he seems ok to let that sector implode.

When my dog has to go to the bathroom he gets our shoes and gently flings them at us, like get these things on and take me OUT

I’m going to coin a law - call it Maugham’s First Law - and it is that nothing Wes Streeting ever says turns out to be true. 🧵

Our big five bar farm gate ripped off the old brick wall it was mounted to, and we finally got someone to fix it! Resin currently drying and then it'll be done. Next: to paint it!
