I hate the hand sanitizer we use at work. It dries out my skin so much, the creases start to split open after using it once. I have never had this issue in years of working with art supplies and washing my hands frequently. At least my lotion helps, but it's like rubbing salt into paper cuts.

I stopped using the iNaturalist app years ago, because they didn't seem to want to do anything about valid safety issues, but it's still super disappointing to see them even consider partnering with slop faucets.

People are excited about Michael’s buying Joann but seeing this story from a cosplay friend that worked at Joann HQ and seeing that Michael’s is owned by private equity firms.. it’s just a matter of time before they declare bankruptcy too :( And with the new pattern companies are in trouble too..

Trying to buy some art supplies directly from the manufacturer, but not only do they not sell anything through their website, the "find suppliers" tab isn't working. The site is just one giant, hard to navigate ad. This isn't even the first time I've seen a company do this either.

So, apparently, the company that owns the Big 4 sewing pattern companies (and Perler fusible beads among other brands) just sold those assets to a liquidation company. Those are the last printers of tissue paper sewing patterns AFAIK. Kind of crazy. craftindustryalliance.org/parent-compa...

Its been rapidly alternating between bright, humid sun and windy, loud thunderstorms all day. I've got nothing productive done, because I don't use my computer during lightning events, and the dogs all want my attention when it stops.
