"Show a little faith, there's magic in the night..." — Bruce Springsteen, Thunder Road A longtime fan of comic books, mystery novels, a lot of nonfiction genres (especially a good travel book), TV, and music of all kinds. In short, I love a good story.

Gregg is a former Marine and Forest Service ranger. He's saved the lives of hikers dangling off a cliff or going through cardiac arrest, and he's bravely fought forest fires to save small rural towns. 100% of his salary is paid by WA state. Elon fired him. Share his story.

@tomking.bsky.social & @sampereart.bsky.social’s #WonderWoman no. 18 is, well, a wonder—truly a stellar installment in the saga that’s been building since the first issue. Every scene, every panel just lands—beautiful in their seeming simplicity…that is anything but simple.

Just read the 2nd and 3rd issues of @alexsegura.bsky.social and @ciantormey.bsky.social's The Question: All Along the Watchtower—lots of fun! Loving the cast of characters, as well as the idea that all of this is happening in the Watchtower while other stuff is going on in Justice League Unlimited.

I received @douglaswolk.bsky.social's All of the Marvels for Christmas, and I've just started reading it. I'm about a third of the way in, and... ...I'm loving it! As a longtime comics reader—Marvel, DC, Archie, Gold Key, all of it, it's pure nostalgia for me, but the analysis is truly engaging!

SiouxperCon 10—can hardly wait!!! @siouxpercon.bsky.social

Looking forward to the Summer of Superman…and Supergirl…and Krypto!

Just watched Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, and I'm a sentimental mess.

Finished the third Local Man tpb—fantastic work from @tonyfleecs.bsky.social, @hackintimseeley.bsky.social, and co.!

Looking forward to this year’s @siouxpercon.bsky.social!

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is a terrific animated series!

Typically I’m very much a read-a-book-and-start-a-new-book-when-I-finish-the-previous-one. But now, I have several books going, and I’m dropping in on each of them a few times a day. Different genres, but a fun way to read.

Geez a loo, am I enjoying Absolute Wonder Woman from @kellythompson.bsky.social and @cleanlined.bsky.social!

@jefflemire171.bsky.social's JSA no. 4 is another terrific installment in the Ragnarok storyline. The focus on Beth Chapel, aka Dr. Mid-Nite, in this issue is very cool, and seeing the team build toward unification is a ton of fun!

Wonder Woman no. 17 is excellent. @tomking.bsky.social & @sampereart.bsky.social are building a truly fascinating epic. The Wonder Girls are fierce!

@markwaid.bsky.social & @chrissamnee.bsky.social's Batman & Robin: Year One no. 4 is terrific! I'm loving this storyline!

@tomtaylormade.bsky.social & @mikeljanin.bsky.social are totally knocking it out of the park with their Detective Comics run. No. 1093 is an excellent installment in the gripping "Mercy of the Father" storyline. As with his Nightwing run, Taylor truly shines a light on the Dark Knight's humanity.

I recently reread @tomking.bsky.social and @mitchgerads.bsky.social's Mister Miracle. Still absolutely excellent. One of the best comics of the past decade.

Currently rereading Jeff Smith’s Bone—still funny, sweet, thrilling, brilliant.

Forgot this was coming out today! Nostalgia! (While I am grateful to DC for this treasury-size reprint of this terrific limited series, I wish they had used the first issue’s cover, than the second’s. Still, terrific!)

It’s here, @philhester.bsky.social!

I finished @jryanstradal.bsky.social’s Saturday Night at the Lakeside Supper Club—and it’s a beautiful novel. A friend described it as “a mood with a great story,” and I think that’s about right. The characters’ struggles with expectations and obligations is relatable—and thoroughly engaging. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went out for a late breakfast. Ordered my fave, and when it came, I started to dig into my eggs while the guy at the table behind me kept loudly clearing phlegm from his throat in what can only be described as a “wet bark.” I was able to eat barely half my meal. I was so nauseated I just left. Sigh.

I'm loving #DCComics' Limited and All-New Collectors' Edition facsimile editions. I know that, in some cases, they are reprints of reprints, but, wow, the nostalgia is strong! Too, the foil variant cover really add some pop to those classic covers. I wish #Marvel would follow suit.

DAVID LYNCH'S SUPERBOY 1/10

Recently, I reread The Madness of Crowds, the seventeenth Inspector Gamache novel from Louise Penny—truly one of the best in the series.

Right now, I'm reading Saturday Night at the Lakeside Supper Club. A couple months ago, I read Kitchens of the Great Midwest from J. Ryan Stradal and loved it; then, a friend said, "Well, if you liked that...." This one is off to an excellent start.

@hackintimseeley.bsky.social & @tonyfleecs.bsky.social, I’ve only just discovered Local Man—via trade paperback, and it’s amazing!
