My God. The financial times editorial board. That's how bad our governments are. Holy shit.

Captured some new glamor shots for ☄Comet's Catalog page.

I've been using this and he did a great fuckin job. I spent 10 years trying to get folks to focus on level design tools and thanks to this guy I don't have to anymore, Scythe rules

I’ve definitely used the microphone in dumber ways. #playdate

polygons masthead last week vs today

Yesterday I played Videoverse and I cried a lot :( This visual novel is a love letter I miss the old internet tho.

✨ 1000xRESIST is the WINNER of a PEABODY AWARD ✨ This is an honour of a lifetime. We took a lot of risks in the storytelling and we are so proud to be recognized. We are still digesting this. We cannot believe it... HEKKI GRACE EVERYONE 🥹

One of my fav games ever on Playdate looks for testers, go for it :)

I’m at IKEA two days later and I’m still playing @despelote.game

The castle dominates the surrounding land and is well defended by soldiers. You'll need to find a way inside if you are to complete your quest in Lolife #playdate #indiegame

I know everyone is struggling; and it’s horribly embarrassing to ask. But if you can spare any money, I’d be incredibly grateful. It’ll go towards bills, groceries, and moving costs. venmo.com/u/BBoolean

all the talk about ai aligment while reading news every day about the owners of the world being absolutely misaligned with humane values

I'm no longer with Polygon. If you're hiring, please consider the many talented writers and editors now on the market. Every one of them deserves a spot on your staff. I won't be talking more about the sale because I wasn't involved. Going to hang out with my kid. Taking wins where I can.

Polygon launched the year before we did, and they've been an important fixture of games journalism the entire time. Criticism, news, and history -- usually through a personal & personable lens. Relevant but never SEO'ed to hell. Full of good writers & editors who really cared.

whatever else you want to say about it, we are seeing the result of an economic system that ultimately rewards a fundamentally inhumane and grotesque destruction and looting of everything over any desire towards future survival of the planet and thriving of a vast majority of human life.

I'm getting more sad about getting laid off. My work means so much to me. I'm a really good reporter. I've been getting scoops every single week lately, while also doing in-depth, award-winning reporting. I have good ideas! New email: [email protected] www.polygon.com/23776996/bar...

We recently went hard mode on our @play.date game ☄️Comet! A massive visual overhaul, squeezing every drop out of LDtk, and rebuilding our drawing pipeline unlocked all the ideas we wanted to put on screen. Check out our devlog: guv-bubbs.itch.io/comet/devlog... #Playdate

New ☄Comet Devlog coming tomorrow! #playdate

<random web standards love letter> I love CSS do much! Coding with :has, container queries, mask-images and a ton of other new things feels so good. Too bad we decided that the web platform is obsolete ten years ago (hashtag separation of concerns)

It is amazing how much meditating calms my mind even if during the meditation it feels like my mind is going a million miles an hour.

As a person who has studied history, an autism registry is a five alarm fire.

"In an earlier post, she wrote: "As for the inevitable death, if I die, I want a loud death, I don't want me in a breaking news story, nor in a number with a group, I want a death that is heard by the world, a trace that lasts forever, and immortal images that neither time nor place can bury."

Don't ever preorder anything. *except playdate Season 2* play.date/games/season...

I just received the Eastward art book and it is awesome — so far I just flipped through, but I already love it! It’s also a rare video game (art) book printed on good paper, not the usual super glossy and heavy one. Congrats everybody at Pixpil and Lost In Cult!

We're still looking for a hot-shot programmer to join us at Double Fine. A while back, we shared a job post looking for someone who is great with optimizing code and tech. We've now adjusted that listing with more details about the position. Check it out here! apply.workable.com/double-fine-...

Update: The editor has removed the quote, and claimed that the journalist had "had interpreted [my] writings on LLMs and the "stochastic parrots” metaphor too freely into a quote." ... and then had the audacity to ask me for a real quote to include in that article.

New from ROM and funding now, Videogame Box Works showcases the unique designs of Hock Wah Yeo, creator of some of the most incredible game packaging ever produced. vol.co/collections/... 🧵

Just in time for #MARCHintosh, I created this classic system6-esque monospaced font for use in #Playdate projects  tkers.itch.io/mono-carlo

This is basically Altman saying “I’ll do whatever I want to whomever I want and no one can stop me.”

There are trans and queer kids for whom online spaces are their only refuge. Art kids who hone their craft via online spaces. Weird kids who find their people. The trick is not to ban it. It’s to regulate it and educate kids about it. But that’s much harder and more expensive so here we are.

this is such a wonderful thing, not JUST because the recognition is so deserved (it is), but because it shows a willingness to defend narrative as something that can be systems-driven, emergent, living, unfolding as you poke at what’s in your path. really happy for the team

The reason I'm being weird about this is indika SHOULD be a "game industry" celebrated video game. It makes me as a game dev think about what the future of games could be. It's a marvel of scope/scale, interaction, and narrative between characters, but also dialog between the game and the player.

In a career of being nominated for things we know we can't win, I don't think I've ever been more sure of not winning something than the IGF for Excellence in Design last night. Somehow, it was also the first time I've been wrong. Properly stunned, hugely grateful, deeply confused.
